Progressive 7yo who began this season with three chase wins (2m4f-2m5f, good/good to soft) and also ran well when fifth in Summer Plate at Market Rasen (2m5f, good); might still be on the upgrade; respected.

Successful on this card two years ago; campaigned mostly over 2m4f/2m5f but saw out 3m well at Perth (good) most recently, adding to his Grade 2 handicap success in April and taking chase record to 9-30; better than ever and commands respect.

Good ground is key to him, though good to soft is acceptable; after signs of a revival at the Cheltenham Festival he duly delivered in a competitive 2m4f handicap at Haydock, winning cosily despite narrow margin of victory; the 4lb rise seemed generous and when beaten at Uttoxeter he bumped into the talented Glengouly on a good day; all his best form is at shorter, so stamina would be the principal concern.

Good ground is the key to him; his form had nosedived but he was running much better when hampered late on at the Cheltenham Festival and then came good at Haydock (2m4f, good), prevailing only narrowly but under a confident ride in a strong race (he also won it the season before when staged at Cheltenham); a 4lb rise seems very generous.

Good second at Cartmel (2m5f, good) on latest chase start in June and placed in big-field handicap hurdles on next two outings; below form when tried in cheekpieces (now removed) for latest hurdling start but has a significant role to play if all goes to plan here.

Very well handicapped on pick of his Irish form but finished down the field over hurdles on stable debut in July and ought to have coped a bit better with the heavy ground when tailed off in recent Cartmel chase.

Won this last year (good) and followed up at Market Rasen (2m5f, good) in June off a mark 1lb higher than today's; pulled up/tailed off over fences on next two starts but his recent outing over hurdles was fairly encouraging and he could build on that now back chasing.

Good-ground specialist with very good 7-20 strike-rate over fences; capitulated rather tamely after leading at Market Rasen in July but his fourth at Perth (2m4f, good to firm) two starts ago was a pretty good effort and he's on a good mark.

Will be suited by today's good ground and was a very useful handicap chaser in his prime but was out of form for Fergal O'Brien when last seen last summer and it's hard to gauge how much ability he retains as a 12yo.

Drew clear to win by 20l at Market Rasen (3m3f, good) last summer but did not get competitive at Cheltenham (3m1f) in the autumn or when returning from layoff in 2m4f hurdle last month; needs to get back on track and will probably be of greater interest when moving back up in trip.
