No ground worries; best winning day in the 2024 Grand National Trial at Haydock and he's been placed in last two editions of the Troytown in November; those were over fences but he has a much lower hurdles mark and was a close second to Duke Silver in the Leopardstown qualifier; good chance he'll be outspeeded in this but dangerous if he turns for home in contention.

Won a strong 3m handicap hurdle at 2023 Dublin Racing Festival; jumping has caused concern at times, including on handicap debut at Leopardstown (still in contention when falling at the last); much better when a fine second at Punchestown; tame display when favourite for the Galway Plate; disappointing again in Kerry National; frustrating, but not one to rule out.

Won a novice chase here in October 2022 and second in the NH Chase at this fixture that season; on a losing run of 14 under rules but contested plenty of strong handicaps in that time and back-to-back point wins in the autumn may give him some renewed belief; has soft-ground form but his trainer has always believed that good ground is ideal, so watch the weather; well held in a Galway Plate when tried in this equipment combination.

Form & Verdict
Consistent hurdler with 3-7 record, now turning into a useful handicap chaser; long-priced winner of a 2m4f novice handicap at Cheltenham, capable of further progress

Decent sort at his best, career-best performance when close second in last season's 2m5f Topham at Aintree; very lightly raced this season, most recently running well for long way in same event before fading from last; type who could go well here if taking to the banks (won only point-to-point).

Well below his best on both runs this season, the latest at Leopardstown in December; however, he produced a career-best performance when a close second in this 12 months ago (good to soft), pulling clear with Gentleman De Mee, and the return to Aintree could spark a revival; on the shortlist.

Better known as a chaser now and ran big race over the big Aintree fences in April (2m5f, good to soft); 1lb lower for this first hurdle run since May 2024 but this different test may not show him in quite the same light.

Form & Verdict
Runner-up on final two starts last season, including behind Jumping Jet in the 3m4f Ulster National at Downpatrick; fair chance if none the worse for Galway fall three weeks ago on seasonal debut.

Useful staying novice chaser last season, notably looking home and hosed until worn down late by Jumping Jet in this race off 128 (good); out of form over fences so far this season, never competitive at Punchestown last time; return to better ground should suit.

Useful staying novice chaser last season; went close against Bushmans Pass in valuable Navan handicap and also second in Ulster National; jumping let him down on his first two starts of the winter before switching to hurdles for his last two hurdle starts; could go well for in-form trainer and talented 5lb claimer.

Form & Verdict
Beaten favourite for his first two handicap attempts; was having only his fourth start when chasing home stablemate Senior Chief at Cheltenham; getting the hang of things now; worth considering.

Won a maiden hurdle here in 2023 and is 1-10 over fences; hasn't had much racing in the last two years but ran two fine races in valuable Cheltenham handicaps last winter; not as good after wind surgery in the Ultima handicap last time; player if at best.

Didn't jump well when 16l fifth to Myretown in this race last March (good to soft); solid course record otherwise and he twice made the frame here (3m1f/3m2f, good/good to soft) towards the end of last year; has had a wind operation since and he's an each-way candidate if jumping better than 12 months ago.

Perhaps unfortunate not to win this 12 months ago and returned in March with a highly commendable fifth in the Ultima given that his jumping was a major hindrance (had fallen the time before); simply never gave his running at Punchestown on final start; if he can find any fluency over his fences he'd be a danger to all; stable has won the last two editions of this.
