Form & Verdict
Made a pleasing start over fences, winning at Limerick (2m6f) and Punchestown (3m) before unseating at Killarney, and being hampered in a Grade 3 at Galway; eighth in the Cesarewitch, and has had a more recent spin over hurdles since; returns to chasing under optimum conditions.

Smart dual-purpose type won a nice Flat prize over 2m a fortnight ago; came off worse in a couple of 3m clashes with Happy Jacky last year, but not by much, including when beaten a head in the corresponding race; relishes good ground.

Dual-purpose; signed off last season with a solid effort in the Cesarewitch at Newmarket (2m2f, gd-fm); may have needed the run over an inadequate 1m6f here last month; sharper now and moves up in trip; beaten in this last year off 8lb lower but respected nonetheless.

Drew 8l clear in Cesarewitch trial at Newmarket in September (2m2f, good); couldn't follow up in the real thing when sixth of 19; up 10lb compared to his last win and he has never won after an absence before.

Form & Verdict
Hampered early on Perth chasing debut (2m4f, good; third of four; form franked); produced a dominant display next time in a three-runner affair at Wetherby (3m, good; a 15l winner); excels on good ground, and is open to further improvement despite having a 6lb penalty to carry; strong contender.

Made all in first-time blinkers over C&D (good to soft) in November, his third course win, but was pulled up on all three subsequent outings and needs switch to first-time visor to provoke another resurgence.

Won this last year and scored again here in November when in first-time blinkers (good to soft); however, he's on a tough mark and has become all or nothing; races prominently.

Won at Kelso (3m2f) last March and first-time blinkers (retained since) prompted a career-best performance when he scored under Jack Power at same track (2m7f) in November; however, those are the only times he ran well last year, while he was pulled up in this race and also when trying 4m on soft ground at Kelso on latest outing; others look more solid.

Form & Verdict
Rallied determinedly to make a winning chasing debut at Kelso (2m5f, soft) in April; not far off that level in defeat since, most recently second at Carlisle (3m, good) on Tuesday; plenty of work to do, though, on these unfavourable terms.

He's well handicapped on his 2024 chase form (won here) but his subsequent profile has been mixed and he was soundly beaten when back over fences at Carlisle two months ago; others have more pressing claims.

Lost his way over fences last season but he kept on for an encouraging fourth of 19 over hurdles at Ayr (2m4f, soft) last month and has a handy mark to work with now back chasing, with the step back up in trip a plus.

Form & Verdict
With Gordon Elliott when winning a 24-runner maiden hurdle at Cork (2m1f, soft to heavy) last December, before being sold for 125,000euros (owners' dispersal sale); has failed to sparkle in two attempts over fences - Kilbeggan and Down Royal - and this looks competitive enough; a tongue-tie is now applied.

He's on a competitive mark on chase form as recent as last July; however, he hasn't been at his best on either outing this winter and is now 0-9 over fences; needs to raise his game in first-time blinkers (replacing a visor); well beaten in the NH Chase (3m6f) at last season's Festival.

Bumper/hurdles winner for Gordon Elliott; 0-8 chasing; well beaten when unseating at the last in the Troytown at Navan (3m, heavy); better effort when 14l behind in the Paddy Power (3m, yielding) at Leopardstown; others preferred.

Form & Verdict
Fortunate (left clear) when breaking the maiden over hurdles at Ayr (2m4f) in February, but progressive thereafter, winning a Class 4 handicap at Haydock (3m), and signing off with a solid fourth in April; exactly the type to do well over fences, but lacks a fitness edge and this is a tough introduction.

Verdict

A good quality novices’ chase. Lucinda Russell’s CADELL produced a dominant display at Wetherby and was given a glowing endorsement in the aftermath by Michael Scudamore. The 6yo is open to plenty of improvement, so can hold sway over Reverend Hubert who demonstrated his versatility by finishing eighth of 24 in the Cesarewitch. Meanwhile, this can be considered a learning curve for the chasing newcomer President Scottie. [Mark Rowntree]
