Form & Verdict
Won by a head at Ascot (2m5f) last March off same mark as today; not so good since and, despite his stout pedigree, he hasn't convinced with his stamina at this sort of trip in his four attempts, including latest start; has tongue tied first time.

Below form in Kim Muir at Cheltenham in March but showed career-best form when winning at Newbury (3m2f, good) just after Christmas and will be a danger to all here if back at that level in first-time cheekpieces.

9yo who has a good strike-rate over fences and produced a career-best performance to win at Newbury (3m2f, good) in December when last seen; has also won on soft ground; had just five rivals to beat on that latest start but he was impressive and is not ruled out now 6lb higher.

Form & Verdict
Third at Exeter and second here in two five-runner chases this autumn; has worn blinkers or cheekpieces on last six starts and now tries a visor; it's also his first run beyond an extended 2m4f and he did rally well over 2m4f here last time, but bit to prove.

2m novice handicap winner here three years ago to the day (good; RPR 129), and several decent placed efforts after; able schoolmaster for Joe Neal in novice rider points lately, getting there in time at Kimble (3m, good to firm) but not quite last time; others a bit more persuasive.

Form & Verdict
Form figures of 1121 over this sort of trip in his first four handicaps, before signing off last season with heavy defeats in two strong races; he did not show much on his recent chase/seasonal debut either, admittedly when 16-1 over an inadequate 2m4f but he was a remote last almost all the way round and something a bit more positive would have been preferable.

Form & Verdict
Won in 2022 in his sole Irish point; added a maiden hurdle at Plumpton in April and improved again when 10l second of ten in handicap at Southwell (extended 2m4f, good to soft) one month ago on chase debut; this is a new stamina test but that latest run gives some hope and he has the distinction of being upwardly mobile.

Lightly raced for his age and was seemingly boosted by new cheekpieces when runner-up twice on good ground in the spring (2m7f/3m1f); should cope if there's rain about but we haven't seen him since a disappointing run in May; tongue-tie added.

Form & Verdict
It's hard to ignore that he's won only once (November 2022) in his 18 starts for this stable; most were in higher grades than this and he's well down the weights, well treated on the best two of last season's efforts; stepping down to Class 4 this term has not changed his fortunes but he would have finished closer at Hereford last time but for a sprawl at the second last, so he's not written off.

Bounced back to form in first-time blinkers at Bangor (3m5f, soft) last month, winning North Wales National under Lucy Turner; it's hard to tell whether the new headgear will continue to have a positive effect, and the forecast quicker ground here is probably not ideal, but he's still 5lb lower than when second in this race a year ago.
