Form & Verdict
2-4 over hurdles last season and made quite promising start to chasing career when keeping-on third of five in stronger race than this at Uttoxeter (3m, soft) in November; effecively 1lb lower here and should have more to offer over fences.

Easily made all in first-time visor over C&D (good to soft) last April; hard to fancy on his three runs this term but, given his previous reaction to new headgear, it's possible cheekpieces will garner a positive response.

Easily made all in first-time visor (retained since) at Perth (2m4f, good to soft) last April and he stays this far; however, pulled up/tailed off on his two outings this season and needs to turn things around.

Form & Verdict
Beat a good yardstick quite stylishly to score on chasing debut at Southwell (2m4f, good) in October; not quite in same form when third at Doncaster (2m3f, good) in November but finished well there and looks ready for a crack at a staying trip.

Won three 2m7f handicaps (all on good) in early part of last season, two over C&D; has failed to fire in two runs after a break but could be dangerous if all the better for a wind operation and new tongue-tie.

Won three 2m7f handicaps (all on good) in early part of last season; made low-key return behind Tranquil Sea last month but that race was competitive and, with that run behind him, he may yet have more improvement to come.

Absent since an October double (2m7f Class 3) that took his hurdles record to 4-12; returns to action off a stiffer mark in deeper waters and looks by no means certain to bag the hat-trick.

Form & Verdict
Won quite comfortably under positive ride at Sedgefield (2m5f, good; first-time cheekpieces) in May and returned from break with satisfactory fourth (just behind Cardamon Hill) here (2m4f, good to soft) last month; unexposed over this sort of trip under rules and a contender if that recent run did him good.

Scored at Uttoxeter (3m, good) in May, his second start for James Owen, and ran big race when clear second to thriving opponent at Cartmel (3m1f, soft) in June; needs to bounce back from last month's duff effort at Market Rasen but still features prominently in calculations.

Looked a hard ride when second at Bangor (3m, good) but travelled sweeter with the blinkers back on at Cartmel (3m1f, soft) and just missed out; nudged up another 3lb but has to be respected.

Form & Verdict
Three chase wins this season, the latest over C&D (good to soft) in November; lacked the pace to challenge when third over 2m4f here on latest outing in December but moves back up in trip today and further progress remains possible; usually ridden patiently.

Autumn Return

Verdict

Inox Allen (second choice) was not beaten far after keeping on from the rear on his seasonal/chase debut, while Roger Pol already has a chase win on the board and is open to improvement over today’s longer trip. Sedgefield winner LEADING FORCE was behind Cardamon Hill when fourth over 2m4f last month but that was his first run since last summer and there’s a possibility he will be allowed an uncontested lead today. He could be worth chancing.[Chris Wilson]
