Point-to-point and bumper winner improved from his hurdling debut to battle on well when winning a Navan maiden (2m4f, soft) last time; won a Down Royal bumper on good to yielding so conditions are fine; major player.

Form & Verdict
Overcame greenness to win Cork maiden hurdle (2m4f, good) in November; disappointed when upped to Grade 3 level two weeks later; the drop in trip forced jumping errors when second of four at Down Royal latest; could be a tough nut to crack back up in trip.

Won a bumper and Cork maiden hurdle in 2024 but no win since; however, she has run well in defeat several times up to 2m7f including at this track; up 2lb from last time and one to consider.

Cork maiden hurdle winner in November 2024 (2m4f, good); struggled in first two runs this season at Leopardstown but signs of life when a 13l fourth at Naas (2m3f, sft-hvy) 29 days ago; the return to better ground here will suit and yard had a double at the Curragh on Good Friday; could go well.

Bumper winner here and maiden hurdle winner at Cork in 2024 (2m4f, good); good effort when runner-up behind Kaid d'Authie at the Punchestown festival in a conditions hurdle (2m4f, yielding); needs to return to form following two poor runs this season, finished last of 18 at Leopardstown last time (2m2f, heavy).

Form & Verdict
Consistent but limited form in maiden hurdles last season; didn't need to improve much to win four-runner novice hurdle at Fairyhouse (2m4f, soft) on his return but he might get found out over this trip on better ground (stays much further).

9yo who is lightly raced for his age; he needs to produce more than he managed at Leopardstown and Downpatrick last month on his first two chase starts but he wears first-time headgear today and Gordon Elliott's horses are always well worth a second look at Perth; could have a big say.

Consistent if frustrating in maiden hurdles before winning a 2m4f rated event at Fairyhouse early last year (soft); a latecomer in chasing; faded late in the Leopardstown event in which the much shorter-priced Strutter flopped.

Verdict

Gordon Elliott is double-handed here. Find A Fortune won a modest race at Fairyhouse when last seen and might get tapped for toe over this trip on better ground, while Jacob’s Ladder knuckled down well to win a Navan maiden hurdle and seemingly has the best chance of the Cullentra-trained pair. However, both could struggle to live with BLUE MOSQUE, who bolted up over this trip at Cork in November and she just found 2m1f too sharp last time. [Adrian Wall]
