Blue Bresil gelding; cost £52,000 as a three-year-old; dam placed 2m/2m4f hurdles, half-sister to useful bumper and 2m hurdle/chase winner Falcon Island and to dam of smart chaser up to 4m2f Ms Parfois; warrants respect on debut given his connections and market support would be significant.

Made his debut only a month ago but was hugely impressive at Navan (soft to heavy) in comfortably disposing of experienced opposition (who had shown plenty of ability) by a widening 5l, and so strong was he through the line that Patrick Mullins had a job pulling him up; that performance was evidently not unexpected after going off favourite (9-4) and the vibes emanating out of a yard that's farmed this race bode well; given that ten winners of this contest had raced only once, there's no knocking inexperience.

Yard have had a bumper winner this season and this son of Authorized outran odds of 28-1 when third of 17 in a Punchestown Festival bumper on debut; that form has worked out nicely (runner-up was DRF winner Colcannon); different conditions here but his half-brothers handle testing ground and he's interesting on seasonal debut.

Outran big odds on debut and chased home his new yard's He Can't Dance (third in DRF bumper) in a C&D bumper in December; interesting that he's joined these connections since and should improve from that seasonal debut.

Lightly raced 6yo showed definite ability in bumpers for Dermot McLoughlin, notably in decent Navan contest (soft-to-heavy); returned from over year's absence for current yard last month when hooded in 2m Clonmel maiden hurdle, staying on third behind an odds-on shot (soft); hood left off here but rates a major contender.
