Came good late in his three-year-old campaign when the blinds went on; back-to-back wins in 0-60 company at Gowran (1m, heavy) and Dundalk (10.5f); after eight months off, ran okay when upgraded to this level, finishing pretty much upsides Unterberg and Sinbad My Dad at Roscommon (10.5f).

Showed significant improvement in first-time blinkers to win a handicap over an extended 1m at Gowran last October; proved he could handle a sound surface with a follow-up success at Dundalk in November; went up 14lb in total; further improvement feasible this term, but blinkers left off here.

Plenty went wrong for him in the Queen's Vase here one year ago (still a close fifth) but unbeaten with cheekpieces added for his five starts since; that includes the St Leger at Doncaster (by a neck from Rahiebb) in September and two 1m6f events this spring (familiar route to this race for his stable) but also, and perhaps most tellingly, the 2m Goodwood Cup last July in which he asserted late on from last year's Gold Cup second; high class and there's plenty in those 1m6f/2m performances which suggests he will be a thorough stayer.
