Form & Verdict
Multiple wins include three over C&D earlier in his career; has run well on occasions since a narrow Musselburgh win (7f, good) in April off this mark and a recent never-nearer third of eight there under Jake Dickson puts him in this picture; yard runs three.

C&D win off this mark in April; mixed since but his latest third at Ayr (6f, soft) was a sound effort and today he has the assistance of an apprentice who is good value for his 7lb claim; high on the list.

Form & Verdict
Has risen to new heights this year, winning six times, the most recent three over 7f on turf (good and soft), but his charmed run ended at Musselburgh last week; runs off the same mark today and has ground to make up on Abduction; may need weight off his back now.

Form & Verdict
Down the field over 6f and then in a higher grade than this on last two starts but he has more going for him back over C&D, having won his first attempt last August (good) and then quite readily in May (good to firm); solid claims for last year's winning trainer-jockey combination.

Both wins have come over 7f at Ayr, surging back to form when scoring there on good to firm last month; a lesser run over 6f has followed but a revival isn't ruled out back at 7f from a good draw.

Both wins have come over 7f at Ayr, and he surged back to form when scoring there ten days ago; still lightly raced, in excellent hands, and should be at least as effective over this trip on a stiff track; a danger to all at the foot of the weights.

Form & Verdict
Down the weights since some ordinary 7f runs in the middle months of 2025 and looked as if he might take advantage shortly when a close second at Thirsk (1m, good) in April following a break; however, he hasn't run to the same level since and needs a revival returned to 7f.

Strike-rate is only 1-16 but he gained the win at Ayr and returns here off an attractive mark (peak one was 15lb higher); ran encouragingly at Thirsk (1m, good; 1l second) most recently, proving suited by the switch back to turf from AW.

Had just two 7f runs on turf for this yard, winning over C&D (good to firm) in May, then third to The Gay Blade here (soft) 17 days ago; weights chance of turning things round with that one but Paul Mulrennan switches to Native Honey; a good run is still on the cards.

On a long losing run but he looked an unlucky second over C&D in April and hasn't enjoyed the rub of the green since, short of room last 1f when fifth at Catterick (7f) last time; weighted to go well off a reduced mark with cheekpieces added (hood also refitted).

Verdict

Native Honey makes a good deal of appeal back on home territory and he’s likely to give it plenty in attempting to retain an unbeaten C&D record. However, marginal preference is for SLACK BOB, who has to negotiate a wide draw but is back at 7f for the first time since impressing on the AW win in May and he lost nothing in defeat over 1m since. Ashen and Abduction may prove the pick of the remainder.[Emily Weber]
