THE TIDE TURNS opened the year with a victory in a maiden hurdle at Punchestown, and that was a comfortable score too. He was immediately thrown into pattern company for two follow-ups, the pick of that form being a 4th of 9 in a Grade 1 at Leopardstown. There’s plenty of progress still to come from Gordon Elliott’s charge.
After a mid-February score at Naas, BRAZIL brings some winning form to the table for owner JP McManus. That was a novice hurdle in which he got the better of Un Des Flos by a whopping 13 lengths as he convincingly delivered the goods.

That means the likes of Fairyhouse winner BRITZKA and the upwardly mobile PETIT TONNERRE, who has made an unbeaten start to his Hurdles career, piques interest in Boodles Juvenile Handicap betting tips.

Boodles Juvenile Handicap History & Present Time
The Boodles Juvenile Handicap is named that due to sponsorship reasons. The race’s official name is the Fred Winter Juvenile Novices’ Handicap Hurdle, and it is a Grade 3 contest that was only introduced to the Festival line-up in 2005 when the meet was expanded to 4 days.
The race gets its name from Fred Winter, a successful jockey and trainer at the Festival who was also a multiple Champion jockey and Champion trainer during this long involvement in the sport.
It’s run at a distance of 2m 1/2f (approx) with eight hurdles. This is for juvenile novices only of at least four years of age. After coming into the Festival at Listed level, the Boodles Juvenile Handicap was moved up to Grade 3 in 2009. This year’s purse for the race is £80,000.
