Form & Verdict
Runner-up in the Group 1 Sun Chariot on the other Newmarket course last October (1m, good) and this lightly raced 4yo made it two from two for the year when winning the Group 2 Duke Of Cambridge at Royal Ascot (1m, good to firm) last month, travelling well to beat Jancis by just under 2l; that latest performance suggests she's capable of landing a Group 1 prize; key player.

Unraced at two; progressive filly who won Sandown Listed race (good to firm) last July and rounded off 2025 with fine Group 1 second at Newmarket (good; Cathedral fifth) in October; asserted late to beat Kon Tiki going away at Goodwood (also 1m, good; Shes Perfect third, Arisaig fourth) on her comeback last month, indicating she's set for another good campaign; leading contender.

Lightly raced and progressive filly who completed a hat-trick in a Listed race at Sandown (1m, good to firm) last July; held in second in her final two runs last season but the first was a Group 3 and latest was in the Group 1 Sun Chariot Stakes at Newmarket; sets the standard on this big drop back in class and she's a strong contender on her return.

Form & Verdict
5yo who has been a big improver this year, winning the Group 2 Dahlia Stakes on the other Newmarket course (1m1f, good to firm) on her reappearance and producing a career best when second to Blue Bolt in the Group 2 Duke Of Cambridge at Royal Ascot (1m, good to firm) last month, beaten just under 2l under a 3lb penalty; they reoppose off level weights and she's not ruled out.

Tends to go well fresh and it was a clear career best when reappearing to win 1m1f Group 2 at Newmarket (good to firm; Cathedral second, Francophone fourth, Falakeyah sixth) in May; didn't quite match that form when fifth in similar company at the Curragh three weeks later, albeit with that race not panning out ideally; 3lb penalty will likely leave her vulnerable again, though.

Smart form in winning her first two races at three; failed to add to her tally last season; posted a career-best to win a 1m1f Group 2 event at Newmarket three weeks ago; has the beating of Francophone on that running; strong contender if she can replicate that form on slower ground; seems ideally suited by a quick surface.

Form & Verdict
2yo campaign concluded with a win in the Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies Turf (1m, firm); reappeared with respectable fifth to Precise in the Group 1 Coronation Stakes at Royal Ascot (1m, good to firm) last month, when she got warm beforehand and weakened late; could show the benefit of that outing and pose a bigger threat today; trainer won this in 2024 with Porta Fortuna.

This is her first run of the year but she won the Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies Turf at Del Mar (1m, firm) last October when last seen; ran well in third in the Albany here 12 months ago; can give a good account if fully tuned up.

Won her maiden here over 6f and has since held her own in Group 3s, finishing third in the Albany at Royal Ascot and then short-headed by an unbeaten French filly in a 7f Group 3 at Deauville (good); brings solid form credentials and still improving by the looks.

C&D maiden winner last August who was third to Precise in the Group 1 Fillies' Mile in October; returned with Group 3 win at Longchamp (1m, good) in April and runner-up in the 1,000 Guineas (1m, good to firm) next time, faring best of those who raced on the far side (led that group); failed to settle and weakened when soundly beaten in the Prix de Diane (10.5f, good to firm) last time; drops back in trip but improvement is needed to win this.

Newmarket form comprises a maiden win on the July course and third-place finish, just over 4l behind Precise, in the Group 1 Fillies' Mile; bagged Group 3 honours at Longchamp (1m, good) on reappearance, collaring a sitting duck (clear leader who tired) and strong at the finish; has evidently trained on well and her RPRs continue on an upward trajectory.

Ran well in Curragh Group 2 most recently but was just over 4l behind Composing, who has let down the form since; in front of Legacy Link when winning on the July course (1m) but that rival lacked experience.

Form & Verdict
Underwhelming favourite in the 1,000 Guineas on reappearance but has left that behind for subsequent wins in the Irish 1,000 Guineas at the Curragh (1m, good) and the Coronation Stakes at Royal Ascot (1m, good to firm); after a slow start last time she was trapped three wide but still won in convincing fashion, and she's a leading contender in her bid for a fifth Group 1 win.

Highly progressive 2yo last season, which concluded with two Group 1 wins (7f/1m, yielding/good), and she bounced back from an underwhelming reappearance in the 1,000 Guineas at Newmarket (1m, good to firm) to win the Irish version at the Curragh (1m, good) by just over 2l from stablemate and 1,000 Guineas winner True Love; won a Group 3 on fast ground; she's the one to beat.

Dual Group 1 winner at two, landing the Moyglare and Fillies' Mile, bringing up a four-timer; drew clear inside the final furlong and comfortably beat Venetian Lace by just over 3l in the Newmarket race; failed to confirm form with Venetian Lace (third) in the 1,000 Guineas, and has been leap-frogged by True Love in the Ballydoyle reassessment.

Second to Precise in the Group 1 Fillies' Mile last October (good; no match for the winner) and returned with fine third in the 1,000 Guineas (1m, good to firm; Fillies' Mile third Evolutionist in second); failed to settle when tailed off over 1m4f in the Oaks last month (when reportedly unsuited by the slow ground); drops back in trip but with something to find.

0-6 since debut win on AW last June and unproven on slow ground; however, she was a fine second in a red-hot running of the Group 1 Fillies' Mile at Newmarket last October and reappeared with an excellent third in the 1,000 Guineas there (1m) last month; made the running on her last two starts; by Derby winner Masar and rallied in the closing stages last time, so it's possible that this sizeable step up in trip will suit; not ruled out.

Fourth, then sixth in maidens at Leopardstown on her first two runs (1m/7f, good) before creditable fifth behind top-class stablemate Diamond Necklace in a 7f Listed race there, only a neck behind subsequent winner Killashee Warrior; employed as pacemaker in the Prix Marcel Boussac; should be good enough here.

Verdict

The 3yo PRECISE tests her mettle against older horses for the first time and in Duke Of Cambridge Stakes winner Blue Bolt she faces a 4yo who may well be winning at Group 1 level sooner rather than later. However, Precise impressed with the way she won the Coronation Stakes at Royal Ascot, having been caught wide after a slow start, and she can secure a fifth Group 1 win. Last season's Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies Turf winner Balantina is open to improvement on her second start back from time off, and she is third choice ahead of Duke Of Cambridge runner-up Jancis, who is 3lb better off with Blue Bolt today.[Ben Hutton]
