Form & Verdict
Unbeaten winner of three 7f races; 11-1 on debut at Leicester; got loose beforehand but made all and won going away at Ascot (good to firm); drifted left but had enough in hand to hold off Haffner in a Group 2 event at Goodwood; last year's winner of that race, Zavateri, followed up here.

Form & Verdict
Won the 7f Group 3 Tyros Stakes at Leopardstown, beating today's rival Folsom Blues; rider appeared to accept defeat when collared by Giant Sequoia over C&D in the Futurity Stakes; hard to know whether he exceeded stable expectations, or his stablemate ran a bit flat.

Form & Verdict
Shaped with promise over C&D in May on debut; showed the benefit of the run with an emphatic 7f maiden win at Gowran in June; second to Florida Bay in the Group 3 Tyros Stakes over 7f at Leopardstown; emerged with credit when chasing home Sun Goddess in the 6f Phoenix Stakes; helps to give his trainer a strong hand.

Form & Verdict
All three runs over C&D, beaten at short odds on debut in June; left that behind to win easily on quicker ground later that month, putting himself into the early picture for the 20027 Derby; no real fireworks when getting up to beat stablemate Florida Bay in the Group 2 Futurity Stakes; will need to be more lively now, fair chance that will be the case.

Form & Verdict
Won at Newmarket (7f, good to firm) in July on second start, before close second to Dr Rascal in the Group 2 Vintage Stakes at Goodwood (7f, good); left an impression that he is ready to step up to a mile when winning last York's Acomb Stakes; lends depth to the stable's challenge all the same.

Form & Verdict
Kingman colt made a favourable impression when strongly supported on his debut in a C&D maiden last month; after breaking slowly, his rider was in no rush to make up ground and he still appeared to have plenty to do before beginning to motor from a furlong down, getting up late; potentially top-class, though perhaps a worry this could come a bit soon.

Frankel colt; brother to Irish 1,000 Guineas winner Homeless Songs; made a very satisfactory winning debut over C&D in July; entitled to take his chance but others have stronger credentials.

Form & Verdict
Promising third on debut at Fairyhouse (6f, good) in June; shrugged off a disappointing run at this venue when making all at Galway (7f, yielding) in July; confirmed a good standard of form when third behind Haffner in the Acomb Stakes.

Betting Forcast

4/1 Dr Rascal, 10/1 Florida Bay, 9/1 Folsom Blues, 3/1 Giant Sequoia, 9/2 Haffner, 15/8 Monogram, 14/1 Porto Vecchio, 20/1 Trean

Verdict

A little odd that Aidan O'Brien has won only one of the last eight editions, and Ryan Moore's mount Giant Sequoia was only workmanlike when beating stablemate Florida Bay in a Group 2 last time. British stables have won four of the last eight and Dr Rascal arrives after landing the same Goodwood race as last year's winner. However, slight preference is for the inexperienced MONOGRAM, who looked exciting when coming from last to first here on his debut. His trainer has saddled the winner in three of the past six years.
