Form & Verdict
3-9 in Irish points; overcame a bad mistake two out to break his duck under rules at Fairyhouse (3m, heavy) last month but was well below that level following a 6lb rise at Punchestown (3m, soft) latest; will need to bounce right back if he is to shoulder a big weight to victory.

Form & Verdict
Earned both wins over extreme trips and could have been named the winner from a long way out over C&D last month (soft) against two of today's opponents; 8lb rise may well not stop this lightly raced 9yo winning again.

Form & Verdict
Triple winner here who thrives in testing conditions; still 6lb higher than when a staying-on third here in April; could have been forgiven for needing last month's reappearance, when behind two of these rivals; likely to be involved if coming on for that.

Form & Verdict
Point winner who stayed on to win over C&D (soft) on his chase debut in October; went up 2lb for that but finished 12l adrift of the reopposing Largy Nights back over C&D latest; now 8lb better off with that rival but will need to raise his game to turn the tables.

Dual hurdle winner at up to 3m1f (both soft); well below his best since spring 2022 and looks up against it on his second chase start.

1-20 over fences and although he finished second here (4m) in March, he has run below that since at Carlisle and back over hurdles at Perth; requires an extreme test to be seen at his best.

Both hurdle wins came over 3m/3m1f on soft back in 2022; fair second in a 4m h'cap chase at Hexham last month (soft), but not so good last time.

Belied 40-1 odds when keeping-on second (no threat to winner) at Hexham (4m, soft) last month and is also well suited by this track but is far too inconsistent to rely upon and would appeal more on soft/heavy ground.

Form & Verdict
2m7f chase winner (good) when on this mark last year and went close over C&D (good) 14 months ago when 6lb higher; claims if in that form but has plenty to prove after failing to complete in his last three starts; tongue-tie discarded and cheekpieces now go on.

Just held on to win over C&D (good) in March 2022 but has run to form on only one of four subsequent appearances; struggled (albeit over 2m3f) on recent seasonal debut and may not be ideally suited by the forecast heavy ground here; others preferred.

12/1

Verdict

Three of them clashed over C&D three weeks ago and the 12l winner LARGY NIGHTS (nap) is now significantly worse off with Ballylinch and Skyhill (second choice today) but Charlie Longsdon’s runner has few miles on the clock for his age and is taken to come out on top again in spite of these revised terms. A back-to-form Faith Loving would not be ruled out.[Jonathan Doidge]
