Form & Verdict
Has shown some ability in this sphere at around 2m4f and produced his best effort when second behind an improving opponent in a Catterick novices' contest (good to soft) latest; has to prove he handles testing ground and now also drops back in trip but looks a player.

Close second at Doncaster (2m3f, good to soft) in November and bounced back from Ascot blip when third at Carlisle (2m, good to soft) recently, albeit soundly beaten by the first two; the step back up in trip might help and he's a possible player if conditions suit; unproven on soft ground.

Unproven on soft ground and tailed off at Ascot last time, although that was in a hot Class 2; went close in Class 3 at Doncaster (2m3f, good to soft) two starts ago and not ruled out now back down in grade.

Form & Verdict
Had shown some ability in Irish bumpers and a maiden hurdle (2m3f, yielding to soft) when trained by Stuart Crawford; won a couple of points earlier in the year, the second being a match; returns to rules with a bit to prove, not least in these conditions.

Form & Verdict
Fairly useful 2m Flat winner (soft) in April with Ian Williams, before the handicapper again had his measure; 25-1 and tailed off on last month's hurdling debut at Wetherby (2m3f, soft); plenty to prove after that, especially now dropped in trip.

Took big step back in right direction and arguably ran better than bare form suggests when fifth at Wetherby (2m, good to soft) in March, but was generally very disappointing last season; others have more appealing profiles.

Form & Verdict
Showed promise in a Navan maiden (2m4f, yielding) on his hurdling debut in January 2022 for Stuart Crawford; favourite on his first start for this trainer at Ayr (2m4f, soft) two months later, when a creditable third; had wind surgery since and sets the standard if ready after a lengthy layoff.

Sixth foal; half-sister to winners Ruby Island (bumper and 2m hurdle) and Creating Havoc (point); dam an unraced half-sister to useful bumper, 2m2f hurdle and 2m6f chase winner Raven's Run; probably best watched on debut unless market vibes are strong.

Verdict

A trappy contest, mainly because of uncertainty about fitness and what ability remains after a long layoff for LEITRIM CHIEF. However, trainer James Ewart can get one ready after an absence and, in the hope that wind surgery has proved positive, his entrant gets the tentative vote on the strength of the promise he showed early in 2022. Here Comes Georgie is going the right way and looks the clear next best.[Jonathan Doidge]
