Still to add to April 2022's Perth maiden success for Olly Murphy (2m4f, good to soft), and this would be a bit better race than the Warwick 0-100 in which I'm A Starman beat him 31l last time.

Dual chase winner who was ridden much closer to the pace than is often the case when very respectable third behind Abingworth at Warwick (2m4f, good) last month; remains on a workable mark and features prominently in calculations; cheekpieces (tried once in early 2024) refitted.

Verdict

The shortlist is headed by the interesting handicap debutants GOD’S OWN GETAWAY, Land Genie and Bataillon in that order of preference. The selection is particularly appealing with his form having some substance, while the second choice also remains open to further progress and the third choice should leave his Ascot effort behind. Halifax is much more exposed but his latest piece of form is solid, while Sporty Jim also can’t be dismissed.[Steve Boow]
