Form & Verdict
Found out by the drop to 6f last time and is better judged on his previous beating of two subsequent winners over today's trip; also won here in July and goes on the shortlist.

Found out in Group 3/Listed company since making all to win a Doncaster maiden (6.5f) against her own sex in early summer; needs to settle back from seven weeks off.

Made all to win a Doncaster maiden (6.5f, good) for Hugo Palmer as a 2yo and a similar level of form in three turf handicaps for this yard since returning in June; needs a bit more but is closely related to a few AW winners so she could improve for the new surface.

Form & Verdict
Made all over 6f here in early summer, when he had newcomer Metahorse back in third; is 4lb better off with that one, having since gone close on his nursery debut (AW), but needs to find a bit more again for going beyond sprint trips for the first time.

Form & Verdict
Better since upped to this trip, winning at Carlisle despite hanging both ways before a solid effort off this mark on the AW last weekend; the outside stall is never ideal but he'll be 1lb higher from tomorrow and looks on the upgrade.

Seven-time winner whose three appearances here have yielded two wins (7f and 1m) back in 2022/2023; also finished runner-up in this race (good to firm) in 2024 and he was back on track when fairly close third of four at Hamilton (1m5f, good to firm) four weeks ago; winner and second have won subsequently and he warrants consideration.

Form & Verdict
Visor helped when winning three times in July, latterly over C&D off a 6lb lower mark; maybe just didn't take to Polytrack last time but that will need forgiving against some less-exposed rivals.

Form & Verdict
Ayr third reads well enough and today's easier 7f may help, having finished behind Ludo's Landing last time; is entitled to at least close the gap on that one on 3lb better terms, especially if first-time headgear has a positive effect.

Down the field at York and Windsor on his last two starts but he's won on his last four visits to Ripon (1m2f, good/good to soft), including twice this year; it's surprising he's only ever had one crack at 1m4f, given how well he kept on over that trip in 2024; firmly in calculations back here.

Most likeable front runner who bagged a second win of 2026 in 1m2f Ripon handicap in May; unable to lead from a poor draw when 11th at York (1m2f) 15 days ago and remains very much one to consider.

J: Paul Mulrennan

T: Mark Walford

Better than ever when he won five times last year and he's carried on that good work this term, scoring at Ripon (1m2f, good to soft) in April and again over that C&D (good) a fortnight ago; that's arguably his favourite track but he's got form here too and can't be dismissed in current mood.

12/1

Verdict

The return to an easy 6f in a valuable sales race proved beyond METAHORSE at York, but he’d previously looked progressive and this is less competitive back up in trip. Spioradalta, who’s 3lb better off with Ludo’s Landing than when behind him at Carlisle, is another to consider over this easier 7f in first-time headgear.[Graham Wheldon]
