Form & Verdict
Stoutly bred 6yo who made a bright start when scoring by 18l at Exeter (2m2f, soft; RPR 132) in February; 10-11 favourite there the following month and was mounting a serious challenge after the last hurdle but he hang badly left in the closing stages and had to settle for third of four; has not been seen since but he still has plenty of potential and is respected off what looks a fair mark on his handicap debut.

Well-backed 5-1 shot in this last year only to fall early (a stablemate won); 8lb higher this time; won over an extended 2m7f over hurdles and this second-season chaser reappeared with a win in a graduation chase at Haydock (extended 2m5f, soft) in November; fair efforts when fourth in handicaps the next twice (3m/3m1f, good to soft/soft) but needs something extra today.

Promising novice chaser last season and his reappearance win in a graduation chase here (2m5f, soft) represents strong form; won over an extended 2m7f over hurdles; merely fourth off this mark when back in a handicap at Ascot (3m, good to soft) last month but it was still a reasonable performance on ground that may not have been ideal; respected now back on testing surface.

Form & Verdict
Easy winner of 2m4f novice here (heavy) last February; 0-5 since but he went very close at Fontwell (2m3f, soft) on his seasonal return three weeks ago; nudged up 3lb but he pulled clear with an improver last time and should be in the thick of things again on this step back up in trip.

Acts well on testing surfaces and stayed further over hurdles but seemingly ran out of options from handicapping point of view; lacks public experience of fences and probably needs to improve for them.

Easy winner of 2m4f novice at Fontwell (heavy) in February 2021; 0-6 since but runner-up in four of those, including on both this term; moves up in trip, having seen the 2m6f out well on soft ground on latest outing; improvement needed.

Form & Verdict
Point/bumper winner who won on his hurdling debut at Leicester (2m4f, soft) in February; pulled up at Haydock in final run last term but that was a tough assignment in a Grade 2 event and this lightly raced 7yo is back in calmer waters for this handicap debut; interesting to see how he figures in market after 279 days off.

Has had a patchy campaign and was pulled up in the Midland National last time; however, he showed some spark at Musselburgh (3m7f, good to soft) in February and is just 1lb higher than when winning the Eider at Newcastle (4m1f, heavy) last season; not ruled out now back down in trip/grade.

Form & Verdict
Useful staying chaser who won off 10lb higher over fences at Sandown (3m, heavy) in January but he's not made a serious impact since and was fourth of six back over hurdles here on his recent return; should be sharper this time but he takes on some unexposed types and others are preferred.

Now 3lb lower than when winning last season's Veterans' Final at Sandown (3m, heavy) and wasn't beaten far in this year's edition of that contest but has become very unreliable and ran no race at Warwick yesterday.

Won this race last year by 9l on heavy going; has the same mark today, having failed to get near that form since but he was 50-1 in two top handicaps last April and this season's two runs were over hurdles; it would not be a shock were he to surge back to form this afternoon.

Form & Verdict
Showed clear promise in two Irish points in 2020 and he kicked off his rules career with comfortable success in novice hurdle at Worcester (2m7f, good) last May; returns from another lengthy absence but he put in a professional display for that 15l win last time and could have a lot more to offer in handicaps this season; big player.
