Form for new yard this term comprises two placed efforts over 1m and a running-on sixth over 7f; useful over 6f early in career but isn't crying out for the return to this trip. |

Smart 2yo for Wiliam Haggas; won a Killarney handicap in July 2024 when trained by Willie Mullins; two good runs for new yard this spring, third at Newcastle and Pontefract (both 1m), and likely to be in the shake up. |

Has won just one of his last 17 races and was tailed off in the Group 2 Challenge Stakes at Newmarket last week; would be a shock winner. |

Has blown hot and cold this season, best efforts when beaten a nose in Group 2 Duke of York (6f, good) in May and when winning Group 3 at Deauville (6f, good to soft) in July; faced stiff task but well held even so in Group 1 Sprint Cup at Haydock last week; has a chance if on a going day. |

13th May 2026 Good To Firm 0m 5f 42y Class 3 |
9st 5lb |
Prominent racer; won at Lingfield (5f, AW) in January on second start since returning to this stable and he went close over that same C&D next time; ran creditably back on turf at Nottingham (5f, good) 17 days ago but he has a better strike-rate on the AW (1-24 on turf). |

26th Apr 2026 Good 0m 5f 8y Class 3 |
9st 5lb |
Has a better strike-rate on AW than on turf and it's four years since his sole success in this sphere; not the percentage call in this first grass attempt since last August. |

13th May 2026 Good To Firm 0m 5f 42y Class 3 |
9st 9lb |
Three-time winner on good to firm last year, including over C&D in August off a mark 1lb higher than today's; 0-4 in Bahrain this winter but now returns to Britain on a handy mark having been off for 83 days; could have this run to suit and holds claims. |

21st Sep 2025 Standard To Slow 0m 4f 214y Class 2 |
9st 2lb |
Has gone 3-4 in cheekpieces and was drawn out of contention in the defeat at Goodwood; however, the handicapper is creeping closer and this race demands his best form yet. |

24th Aug 2025 Good To Firm 0m 5f 42y Class 3 |
10st 0lb |
Has won two of his last three and was drawn out of contention when beaten at Goodwood; always in a good place before doing it comfortably at Windsor (5f, good to firm); 7lb rise asks a question but he's on top of his game. |
6/4 |
Verdict
Alpha Capture and Shouldvebeenaring (preferred in that order) won at Listed level on turf last summer but both were below their best in the same Newcastle conditions race on their AW debuts in October and neither has raced again since. Preference is for MICHAELA’S BOY, who may face some competition for the early lead from Rocking Ends but ended 2022 in excellent form and could be hard to catch if able to dominate here.[Chris Wilson]
