Form & Verdict
Won a bumper here; some feat to have defied top weight in the Greatwood at Cheltenham (2m, good) and although behind First Street in his two runs either side of that, he did finish nearly 3l ahead of the Henderson runner (who was conceding 3lb) in last season's Betair at Newbury; Cheltenham last time was disappointing but soft ground over 2m4f seemed to find him out; much better can be expected of him this afternoon.

Very smart hurdler with good-ground wins in the Greatwood Handicap at Cheltenham and the Grade 2 Kingwell at Wincanton, easily the best of his five runs last season; his two heaviest defeats last term were on soft but best run the previous campaign was on good to soft; has much the best form in this small but select field; the one to beat if the ground is okay.

Well-beaten sixth of seven in last month's Champion Hurdle and he weakened on his sole previous attempt at this sort of trip; however, the ground was soft for both of those runs and perhaps he's better served by a sounder surface; has won the Greatwood Handicap and the Grade 2 Kingwell Hurdle and he's an each-way contender if able to produce his best form.

Progressive hurdler who powered clear for a 17l success in the Kingwell at Wincanton (1m7f) last month, bouncing back from his Relkeel flop over 2m4f; rated by trainer as being as good as the yard's best hurdlers in the past, including two horses who were placed in the Champion Hurdle; 3-3 over C&D, the most recent in this season's Greatwood (defied top weight in emphatic style); has raced mostly on good/good to soft; should go well.

Form & Verdict
Confirmed himself highly progressive when making all in the Grade 2 Elite here in November (good to firm) and a mix of patient tactics, a longer trip and soft ground all contributed to his defeat at Cheltenham when well behind First Street; it's easy to envisage him shrugging aside that disappointment back here; respected.

Heavy ground provides an excuse for latest effort; has hinted at retaining ability otherwise since returning from lengthy layoff; very attractively treated on historical data, which includes four Grade 2 wins (bumper/hurdles/fences); one to consider.

Smart hurder/chaser in his prime; absent more than two years after Grade 2 novice chase win in autumn 2023 but returned with two pretty good efforts this season (2m5f/3m) and has possibiites in his first veterans' chase; copes well with soft ground; unraced on heavy.

Form & Verdict
Last seen in October when tailed off in the US Grand National (hurdle) and prior to that ran poorly over fences at Worcester; won last season's Grand Annual at the Cheltenham Festival, despite his advancing years, but these terms are tough even if returning to form back over hurdles.

Prominent racer who saw off Andy Dufresne to win this 12 months ago (heavy) off 3lb lower mark; nowhere near that form in three starts since but last month's run in the Kingwell should have sharpened him up and this has presumably been the plan all along; no surprise if he is back to his best.

Form & Verdict
Placed in some quality handicaps last season and impressed when conceding weight all round in Newbury's Gerry Fielden in November (2m, good); no match for prolific stablemate Marie's Rock in the Grade 2 Relkeel at Cheltenham (2m4f, soft) but was 8l ahead of Knappers Hill with I Like To Move It even further back; the one to beat on that form.
