Form & Verdict
This is his first run since December 2021 and he needs to prove how much ability he retains; however, he twice ran well for Sandy Thomson after some time off, and his new stable's horses often go well when fresh; on a handy mark and he's an interesting contender.

Form & Verdict
After making a promising start over fences his progress has stalled somewhat, but he hasn't run badly the last twice and this may prove to be a weak race; possible player.

Following a two-month break and a spell in the doldrums this 10yo returned to form when third of 13 at Ayr (3m, soft) a fortnight ago; this C&D winner could be in the mix if backing up that latest performance.

Form & Verdict
Fell on his chase debut at Ayr in January and his jumping wasn't perfect here (2m4f, good to soft) last month; however, there was still promise in that last-time-out fourth of 12 and he's respected today.

Form & Verdict
Well beaten on last month's handicap hurdle debut at Ayr (2m, soft; 5-1) but he'd previously shown some promise on his first two starts (2m, soft/heavy) and his in-form trainer's horses frequently make better chasers than hurdlers; no surprise if he's an improver now switched to fences.

Goes back over fences for the first time since winning at Hexham (1m7f, heavy) in November 2023, one of three chase victories that year; however, he's been well below his best over hurdles on his two runs this winter, following a long absence, and has lots to prove regarding current form.

Form & Verdict
It's a concern he reportedly made a respiratory noise when tailed off on his handicap hurdle debut at Doncaster in January; however, he posted some encouraging novice hurdle performances previously and this lightly raced point/bumper winner could improve now sent chasing; one to consider.

Two-time hurdle winner whose mark continues to fall, but following a long absence he's struggled to get competitive this season on his first four chase starts; has to raise his game in a big way.

C&D winner but his last success was 17 months ago and he struggled at Kelso (2m5f, good) last month; now goes back up in trip but he's not easy to predict and others are preferred; regular visor removed.

Verdict

Having been a creditable fourth of 12 here last month on his second chase start, PADDY THE HORSE is taken to add to his two hurdle wins at Hexham last autumn. The very lightly raced chasing newcomer One Mill Harbour is feared most for Lucinda Russell, while point winner Macavity is another who could improve for the switch to fences. Overcourt and Grand Voyage shouldn’t be ruled out.[Ben Hutton]
