Form & Verdict
Well drawn at Bath (5f, good to soft) but would have won from any box having strolled home by nearly 5l; the runner-up was again second next time and the third won well at Goodwood on Friday, so her form has substance; has to concede weight all round which might not be easy.

Not at best in the Super Sprint but that is flanked by solid efforts in the Queen Mary at Royal Ascot (good) and Glorious Goodwood conditions race (soft); latter form can be marked up (had to wait for a run); leading player on the figures.

Late foal and was easy to back at Windsor (5f, soft; 33-1) but plenty to like about how she finished her race off and could be considerably sharper for that experience; respected.

Plenty to find on her Windsor efforts; showed improvement to win conditions race at Saint-Cloud (6.5f, soft) but it remains to be seen whether she can transfer that form back to home soil; cheekpieces applied.

Half-sister to three winners who sold for 60,000euros as a yearling; got well behind here a month ago but stayed on takingly to make the frame over 5f on soft ground; that form looks decent with the winner following up and the second not far away in a Listed race at York; this extra furlong should benefit.

Close fourth at Kempton only a week before finishing third of nine runners in a decent-looking Newmarket maiden (5f, good to soft) 18 days ago; still looked green there and just a matter of time before she gets her head in front.

Bred for speed and showed plenty of it when making all at Windsor (5f, soft) last spring; went down narrowly in Newbury Listed race in the summer but her two efforts since have been underwhelming; needs to have come on a ton since her reappearance run but that's not out of the question.

All four wins at 5f on good ground or softer, bolting up in handicap at Goodwood in May; well below par in two subsequent runs but she's had over two months off since and could be revived; not without hope if so.

Her three handicap wins have all come over C&D on good ground or slower; it was only a 0-88 that she won here on her reappearance in May but she fairly bolted up, easing her way into contention from well off the pace and skipping clear inside the final furlong; reverted to front-running in an Ayr Listed event last month but overdid things and dropped away late on; 11lb higher than for May's win but still a strong contender if the ground doesn't dry out too much.

Essentially disappointing given how smart she looked at Goodwood in May, having since trailed home last in the 7f Chesham at Royal Ascot and managed only fifth in last week's Super Sprint (5f, good to soft); would be a surprise winner.

Looked very good when comfortably brushing aside subsequent winners at Goodwood (6f, good to firm) and put a line through her Chesham run (7f) as she got upset during the preliminaries; entered in the Group 1 Moyglare but that's over 7f and she's unraced over 5f; not discounted.

New Bay filly who scored comfortably at Goodwood (6f, good to firm) four weeks ago, building on Newmarket debut promise and showing strong form (next three home have won since); already a leading player on the figures and the longer distance should aid further development.

Last five runs over 6f; initially did well in blinkers when an emphatic winner at Newmarket (6f, good to soft) and posted the same RPR when runner-up there next time on soft; never travelled when disappointing at Goodwood but could be dangerous if reacting positively to another change of headgear.

Promise on debut; fitted with blinkers for her nursery debut at Newmarket in July and strode clear of her rivals to win emphatically (6f, good to soft); similar form when second of six off a 13lb higher mark back at Newmarket last month (form solid); another 2lb higher today but likely to make another bold bid.

First-time blinkers triggered easily a career best when winning a C&D nursery by nearly 5l last week, having led from 3f out (soft); this 13lb higher mark asks a question of her but could be up to it.

Verdict

Juniper Berries fairly bolted up at Bath and is clearly useful, while Denruth Diamond and She’s Smart already have the look of winners waiting to happen. However, they go up against some newcomers with very appealing profiles. Enchanting (second choice) is much respected but LA GUARIDA represents a yard that has done well in this race down the years (three winners since 2013 finished 124 at Royal Ascot) and her owner’s 2yos have made a stunning start to the season.[Alistair Jones]
