Form & Verdict
Produced a promising effort when third at the Curragh in May but poor twice since; doesn't look particularly well treated on any of his form from the last 12 months and his losing run goes back nearly two years.

Improved from his first two runs of the season when finishing well for second over extended 1m2f at Sligo; often placed, but a 2-31 strike-rate is off-putting.

Form & Verdict
Only beaten roughly 3l over hurdles last time and won her previous two Flat starts producing career best performances, both over this sort of trip; not certain to appreciate more testing conditions but has to be respected in her hat-trick bid.

Form & Verdict
Promise in Britain back in 2021 but struggled in two runs for this yard when favourite each time and coughed when tailed off at Galway latest; hard to recommend on the back of that run.

Flat recruit makes debut over hurdles for powerful yard; 1-11 on the level with a career best RPR of 83; well-beaten in first time tongue tie (retained) after 290 day absence at Galway (25-1); at least will strip fitter for that run and can never discount from this stable.

Shaped like a non-stayer when stepped up to this sort of trip at Galway last time; in good form prior to that run but stamina has to be a doubt.

Three-time winner on the Flat, including over C&D last October, but all four wins have come on soft and heavy ground; excellent second in the Cork Derby (1m4f, soft) when last seen in May; just 1lb higher here but needs rain.

C&D winner of a maiden at this meeting last year but has really lost his way this year and very best form has come on quicker ground.

Dual-purpose chasing debutante is 5-21 over timber and rated 130; modest run on the Flat at Ballinrobe last week; not an obvious candidate for chasing on breeding but she will be well-schooled and can't be discounted.

Three-time Flat winner won off 2lb higher at Ballinrobe last year (1m2f, good) and returned to the same race in May when an okay fourth of nine; something seemingly went wrong when pulled up over hurdles at Clonmel in May; others appeal more.

Made almost all to win this race last year (Ballycashin third); ran well off 10lb higher mark at Tramore in August; otherwise has done all his racing on the Flat over the past year; placed on multiple occasions, fair form late; fourth of nine at Ballinrobe last Friday.

7/1

Verdict

This looks competitive, despite the small field. Last year’s winner Royal Eagle should give a good account and hat-trick seeker Vischio is another one for the shortlist despite a 7lb rise for her latest success. However, one of these should fall the way of EXPOUND who has been going close of late and now gets first-time cheekpieces which could help him get his head in front; he’s been leniently left on the same mark for his latest narrow defeat.
