Regressed over hurdles for Dan Skelton and a similar story currently as a chaser; this is no easy race in which to arrest the slide; goes in cheekpieces; 1lb wrong.

Failed to kick on over hurdles for Dan Skelton after successful at Lingfield (2m) last January; it's been a similar story over fences for his new yard and he came in a remote sixth of ten at Worcester (2m) in July; not easy to warm to.

Brother to fair Irish hurdle winner The Moon Sea's Me; appeared to show improvement when sixth of ten in good-ground Irish point last May, his third start, and was bought for £8,500 soon afterwards; makes rules debut today; one of two runners for James Owen.

Failed to make an impact in his three Irish maiden points last spring and sold for £8,500 last May; however, he's joined an up-and-coming trainer for his rules career and it will be interesting to see how he goes in the betting; wears a hood.

Verdict

Habibi was placed in a big field at Newbury last month and will have obvious claims if she runs here (she’s also declared at Lingfield) but an interesting alternative is Irish-trained newcomer REAL EMPIRE, who is out of a Listed German Flat winner. Winning pointer Disco Davis makes his debut for Dan Skelton and is also on the shortlist.[Chris Wilson]
