Form & Verdict
Come-from-behind 5yo who doesn't help himself by tending to race too freely; went close in a couple of 7f AW handicaps in December but he's been quiet on Polytrack in last two starts; still lightly raced on turf but he's untried on heavy ground and has something to prove back in this sphere.

Form & Verdict
All three wins came as a 2yo; had mixed record last term but she looks interesting on her second of 17 on heavy ground at Newmarket (7f) in November; faded at Doncaster on recent return but she shaped as though she needed that run and has possibilities on this drop back in grade.

Form & Verdict
Her only previous run on turf resulted in a runaway win in a soft-ground maiden at Nottingham (6f) last May; fair efforts over 7f at Kempton in first two runs this year and the step up to 1m may have stretched her at Chelmsford last month; on dangerous mark on this drop back in trip and she could have a big part to play back on turf.

Verdict

This looks tricky and the market should be informative. Spirit Of Breeze ended last season with a strong-finishing win over 6f here and is respected at this new trip on his return. Cold Stare is ideally suited by the mud and could be a big factor back on turf, while Shandy Star enters the reckoning on a piece of form in the autumn. However, it might be worth siding with the lightly raced 4yo CUE’S BEAU, who looks interesting on this drop back in trip and her only previous run on turf resulted in a 9l win on soft ground.[David Moon]
