Six-time course winner, all on good ground (2m1f-2m2f); left behind a couple of poor efforts earlier in the year when a respectable fourth over 2m5f here in May but refused to line up when withdrawn here three weeks ago; well handicapped on old form and hard to dismiss if in the mood.

Six-time course winner on good ground (2m1f-2m2f); woeful in two starts away from this track in the spring but he'd dropped to a dangerous mark when a respectable fourth here (about 2m5f, good; winner's won since) last month; will appreciate a strong gallop on this drop back in trip and can rarely be ruled out here.

Form & Verdict
Good-ground specialist who has won six hurdle races (three over C&D) and is back on a good mark now; seemed to respond quite well to change of headgear when close fourth in first-time visor over C&D (good) ten days ago; conditions are a worry.

Form & Verdict
Belatedly opened hurdling account with emphatic 2m2f course win in first-time cheekpieces in May and also ran well when placed in Stratford novice (2m2f, good) last month; ought to make his presence felt again.

Triple Flat winner who is 1-13 over hurdles; that jumps win was by 11l in a Newton Abbot handicap (2m2f, good) in May but he's 9lb higher here and was held back in a novice at Stratford (2-1) last month; others are more persuasive.

Took 12 goes to get off the mark over hurdles but it was very easy under Megan Bevan in a 2m2f handicap at Newton Abbot 12 days ago when in first-time cheekpieces; that was on good ground but he can deal with it softer; strong form claims even with the penalty.

Form & Verdict
Won heavy-ground maiden hurdle in Ireland at start of last year but, following a layoff, looked out of sorts in three handicaps for new stable last month; swaps hood for first-time cheekpieces today.

Form & Verdict
Started off in handicaps with comfortable wins at Ffos Las and Worcester (both 2m, good) this spring; only fifth (just behind Manor Park) from out of the weights when upped significantly in grade here last week but travelled strongly for a long way and was not given a hard time once his winning chance had gone; effectively 6lb lower today and remains of strong interest.

Verdict

Course specialist Clearance was back in prime form this spring and is not opposed lightly on his bid to complete a hat-trick, while Manor Park and Winterwatch have also shown they are very well suited by this track. However, there is probably still more to come from MELTON MOSSY (nap), who looked a fair way ahead of his mark when winning his first two handicaps and was not discredited when fifth in a higher-grade C&D race ten day ago.[Chris Wilson]
