Joined David Pipe after finishing second in 15-runner Irish point in April and ran big race when fourth of 12 on rules debut at Worcester (good) a fortnight ago; ought to be right in the thick of things again here.

Second hurdle win for this yard when taking a mares' handicap at Stratford (2m3f, good) last July but very disappointing in her last two runs after lengthy breaks; makes chase debut and she was second in a point.

Dictated the pace and stuck on well in five-runner race at Leicester (2m4f, heavy) in December, opening her account at the 15th attempt; creditable third of ten here (2m6f, heavy) three weeks ago when she made Sean Bowen work hard and Pipas Lescribaa was second, but there's a 3lb swing in the weights today and this new trip now looks well worth a go; each-way chance.

Made the frame in two Irish points in 2024 and won good-ground maiden hurdle later that year; returned from long absence with two disappointing handicap hurdle runs this year (2m3f/2m; last of six both times), though, and is tricky to weigh up for this chasing debut.

Tailed off at 14-1 on handicap debut at Doncaster (2m3f, soft) last month when back from a long absence, and she has to prove how much ability she retains; however, she may have needed that latest run and it's too soon to write off this very lightly raced, good-ground novice hurdle winner.

Verdict

Dance The Moon made a promising debut at Newbury in December and has by far the best pedigree in this field but last month’s reappearance run was very underwhelming and she now has a point to prove. A more appealing option is Irish point runner-up BACK IN THE BAY, who made a pretty good start to her rules career at Worcester last month. Pure Seduction, another Irish point runner-up, makes her rules debut here and is next on the list.[Chris Wilson]
