Wootton Bassett colt shaped with plenty of promise on Curragh debut last month, forcing pace and finding for pressure when beaten a neck, nicely clear of the remainder (two winners have come out of the race); should have no problem with this extra 1f and sure to make a bold bid again.

Beat the top-class Delacroix in a Group 2 here as a juvenile; sixth in last season's 2,000 Guineas before making all in a 1m1f Listed race at this venue; respectable efforts in the Irish Derby (only run over 1m4f) and in a York Group 2; stamina not assured, judged on overall profile and two runs this season; well held in fourth in the Tattersalls Gold Cup.

Beat the top-class Delacroix in a Leopardstown Group 2 as a 2yo (1m, good); sixth in the 2,000 Guineas before making all in a Leopardstown Listed race in June (1m1f, good); respectable efforts in the Irish Derby here (1m4f, good) and in a York Group 2 (10.5f, good); shaped as though he would improve over his return in a Group 3 here last time when fading into fourth (1m2f, soft); a good bit to find with the top ones here all the same.

Ballydoyle colt who is progressive in the main; justified favouritism in the Irish Champion Stakes at Leopardstown (good to yielding) most recently, taking his form figures over 1m2f to 11121 and overall strike-rate to 6-11; unable to match Ombudsman's late acceleration in the International but had got up late on to collar that rival in the Eclipse and is set for another gripping rematch.

Won two Derby trials over C&D and bounced back from Epsom failure to win the Eclipse at Sandown (1m2f, good to firm); deserved much credit for overhauling Ombudsman late on, having found trouble in running in the straight; beaten by the same top-class rival at York; reputation largely restored all the same; major player for stable denied six in a row in this last year.

Won two Derby trials this spring and bounced back from Derby disappointment to win the Group 1 Eclipse at Sandown (1m2f, good to firm) last month; he deserves immense credit for overhauling Ombudsman late on last time having found trouble in running in the straight and got behind, and it was a performance that suggests he could take plenty of beating today.

Justify colt is half-brother to winners Above The Curve (French 1m2f/10.5f inc Group 1; RPR 118) and Thinking Of You (6.7f 2yo; 99); dam unraced sister to two Group-placed 1m winners, half-sister to top-class Giant's Causeway; superbly-bred debutant, riding arrangements suggest he is the Ballydoyle second-choice but still respected.

Unbeaten with cheekpieces added for his last six starts, including this race last year (outbattled an in-form Illinois), the St Leger at Doncaster (by a neck from Rahiebb) that September and last month's 2m4f Gold Cup at Royal Ascot; had proven fitness on his side against the reappearing Trawlerman when inching ahead close home in their magnificent duel for the Gold Cup, but his stayers' crown is unlikely to be relinquished without a mighty effort whatever the circumstances.

Plenty went wrong for him in the Queen's Vase here one year ago (still a close fifth) but unbeaten with cheekpieces added for his five starts since; that includes the St Leger at Doncaster (by a neck from Rahiebb) in September and two 1m6f events this spring (familiar route to this race for his stable) but also, and perhaps most tellingly, the 2m Goodwood Cup last July in which he asserted late on from last year's Gold Cup second; high class and there's plenty in those 1m6f/2m performances which suggests he will be a thorough stayer.

Won four of his five races at three; improved with cheekpieces after Queen's Vase fifth, won a 1m5f Group 3 at Newmarket by almost 9l and mastering older stablemate Illinois in the Goodwood Cup (2m, good); dug deep to hold off Rahiebb on soft ground in the St Leger; readily coped with Dallas Star at Navan last month and now continues on the Kyprios route to the Gold Cup.

In contention when running out at the last at Kilbeggan (2m4f) in June on final start for Joseph O'Brien, before leaving him for 50,000gns; cheekpieces added for this third start over fences (stable debut) and there's no denying that this former pretty useful Flat-racer possesses a fair chunk of ability.

Looked a nice prospect when landing a 3yo maiden hurdle at Cork in December; down the field when well-fancied in Fred Winter at Cheltenham; two poor Flat runs since and jumping let him down when fifth at Ballinrobe 21 days ago; should improve plenty for that but needs to up in trip.
