Used to be a notorious slow starter but he's been a bit better in that department since the summer and it was a solid effort in this headgear combination when second of five at Brighton (1m4f, good to firm) three weeks ago; stayed on from the rear when third in an amateur riders' race over that C&D 12 days later; this is a notch above the standard he regularly contests, though. |
