Form & Verdict
Bumper/hurdle winner; pulled up twice in a row early this year but she bounced back with a creditable third of 15 in a Kempton novice hurdle (2m, good to soft) in March; returns after 216 days off but she won on reappearance last season and needs a close look on her handicap/chase debut.

Looked useful in bumpers and was a promising novice hurdler last season, albeit during a rather mixed campaign; stopped quickly and was pulled up when switched to fences for last month's handicap debut but it would be foolish to write off her chasing career after that.

Form & Verdict
Fell in her latest chase and was never competitive when switched back to hurdling in August, but she looked good when winning over C&D (good) in June and is still very lightly raced over fences; dangerous back in this sphere after a short break.

0-7 over hurdles and was well held when prominent in the market in final two runs (2m5f/1m7f) last season; had wind surgery since and now goes handicapping over fences but others are more persuasive.

Best of her seven runs over hurdles was when runner-up to a useful prospect at Huntingdon on her return from a summer break last November (2m3f, good to soft); didn't really progress but quite interesting now going chasing after another summer off, having had a wind op.

Form & Verdict
Emphatic winner off 9lb lower over hurdles at Ludlow (2m5f, good) in April but she started her chase career with a heavy defeat at Southwell (2m4f, good) two weeks ago; may have needed that run and is still lightly raced but she has something to prove back at this trip; hood worn in last four starts is removed.

Badly hampered and (latest, behind Calli Black) set a bit much to do from rear in the two lesser runs which bookend last month's fine Uttoxeter second to a now 112-rated rival (2m5f, good); remains of interest.

Sole win over hurdles came with similar trip and ground, and she showed she'll be just as effective over fences when third of seven at Haydock (kept on again after being badly hampered) four weeks ago; the youngest in the line-up and commands major respect.

Form & Verdict
0-11 over hurdles but she returned from long absence with runner-up efforts at Stratford (2m, good to firm) and Newton Abbot (2m1f, soft); wasn't at the same level at Perth three weeks ago but she's on a dangerous mark on this switch to fences and is out of a fairly useful chaser; one to keep an eye on.

Runner-up twice in a row last August/September and she's well treated on that form; however, four lesser performances have followed and she's now 0-16; needs a boost from the first-time cheekpieces.

Form & Verdict
Hasn't shown a great deal in ten runs over jumps including hurdles, points and a hunter chase; long way out of the weights on this handicap debut and can only be watched back over fences.

Verdict

This looks tricky but the vote goes to bumper/hurdle winner JEUNE BELLE, who won on her reappearance last season and should have a future at this new discipline. The main threat could come from another chase debutante in Call Blue, who is well handicapped on her best hurdles form and is out of a fairly useful chaser. Next on the list is Omaha Wish, who looked good when winning over C&D in June and could be a big factor on her return to fences.[David Moon]
