Well treated on old form but he's been lightly raced since his chase win at Exeter (3m, good) in November 2022; returned from 11 months off with fair fourth at Ascot in November but he was tailed off at Hereford the following month; cheekpieces are now added and he has something to prove after another break.

Bright start to chase career when C&D winner (good to soft) last November but he couldn't kick on in novice handicaps after and the return to hurdles ended with him being pulled up when last seen in April; he might be all the better for a break so not ruled out on the earlier promise.

Has an in-and-out profile and his jumping can be an issue; however, he did well to rally for a cosy win after a slow jump at the final fence on his reappearance at Newbury (extended 2m6f, good to soft) in November, and the manner in which he stayed on for a fair sixth at Ascot (3m, good) last month suggests today's extra yardage will be a positive; interesting.

Ended last season in excellent form on heavy ground in blinkers, winning twice over 3m1f at Wincanton before drawing 6l clear over an extended 3m6f at Exeter; should have come on markedly since October reappearance and this is only his second run over a marathon trip; could have more to offer, though seemingly the deeper the ground the better it is for him.

Perhaps didn't go on quite as expected after winning a Chepstow maiden hurdle (2m3f, soft) but he looked the type to do better over fences and so it proved on his chase debut at Newton Abbot (2m5f, heavy) when leading close home; up 3lb but this greater stamina test can suit; good claims.

Won twice as a novice last season and ended up in the National Hunt Chase at Cheltenham (tailed off after racing freely); this campaign is going well and he should stay okay as he wasn't stopping when runner-up over Exeter's super-stiff 3m6f in December (soft); the race he won at Wincanton last time (3m1f, heavy; cheekpieces returned) rather fell apart but he did hack up and the 6lb rise could been a whole lot worse; it's a nagging concern that all five wins have been on right-handed tracks but there's lots to like otherwise about this 7yo.

Several of these look to have their best days ahead of them over fences and the likes of Ioupy Collonges, Coco Mademoiselle and Broomfield Present all make some appeal. Narrow preference is for JUPITER ALLEN who showed fighting spirit when winning over C&D last month and he should continue to improve.
