Overcame a slipping saddle to score on handicap debut at Uttoxeter (2m, good; 18-1, from 5lb lower) in May; kept busy on the Flat at Chester lately, producing creditable efforts (fourth and runner-up); still low mileage as a hurdler, with the potential to rate higher. |

A four-time Flat scorer at around 1m2f in 2025; also successful over hurdles at Uttoxeter in May and back in good form in this sphere, when fourth of 11 over 1m4f here a week ago; very much one to consider. |

Won over hurdles in May; runner-up over C&D in June but only sixth behind Nibras Gold the following month; could still go well, having finished second in a division of this last year. |

Half-brother to the stable's Grade 1 winner Roksana; won only narrowly on his handicap debut over slightly shorter here (good to soft) but was strong in the market and strong in the finish after travelling well; no doubt has more to give but has been withdrawn from races on account of soft ground on two occasions, which is a nagging concern. |

0-3 in bumpers and 0-4 over hurdles, but has some respectable form and wasn't himself at Sedgefield last time when held at his point of departure; had a break since Christmas and can go well if back on song. |

Unplaced all six hurdle runs; might improve over fences at some stage but was well beaten when 33-1 for chasing debut at Bangor (3m, good) in March and could be considered only if much stronger in the betting here; swaps cheekpieces for first-time blinkers. |

Forgettable form over hurdles, including three handicaps from 2m to 3m; there's a chance he could turn out better over fences but a watching brief seems best on this first attempt. |

Point and soft-ground novice hurdle winner who scored on his chase debut at Uttoxeter (2m4f, good) in May when last seen; did it only narrowly in that small field, having had to work hard, but the clear runner-up has franked the form and this unexposed 6yo is only 2lb higher today; key player. |

Irish point winner (3m, good) who won a novice hurdle at Bangor (2m, soft) in November and he ran respectably in handicaps (2m4f/3m) in his final two runs during the winter; should have a future at this new discipline and he needs a close look on chase debut. |

Didn't fail for stamina but equally didn't strike as obviously ahead of his mark when almost 6l fourth on last month's Uttoxeter handicap debut (2m4f, soft); hopes likely rest on this first return to 3m since winning an Irish point in spring 2024 (good) unlocking further potential. |

Lightly raced 5yo who is one to watch in the betting but she's been pulled up at 40-1 and 50-1 in her first two handicaps (2m4f/3m, heavy/good to soft) and a transformation is needed. |

Bred to stay and a market check is advised in first-time cheekpieces; however, she was pulled up at 40-1 on recent handicap debut at Leicester (2m4f, heavy) and needs to leave that form miles behind. |

Showed nothing more than minor promise in three maiden/novice hurdles last year (2m-2m3f) but should have some improvement to come in handicaps and her pedigree suggests the increased emphasis on stamina here will suit. |

Verdict
The bare form of his Worcester hurdle win in June is weak but Spartan Times has made giant strides on the Flat since and it will be very interesting to see how much of that improvement transfers back to this code. That said, FRESH AS A DAISY has a much more conventional profile and is taken to build upon her Uttoxeter success. Hurdling debutant Orderoftheday is also a key player.[Chris Wilson
