Often front-runner; fifth in this race in 2019 and runner-up in the January 2021 version; the latter came off a mark 15lb higher than today's, his final run last term was a step back in the right direction and latest start also showed that plenty of ability remains; ridden by David Prichard last five starts; case can be made.

No win since chase debut in November 2020 and he's had his issues; went close at Haydock (3m1f, soft) on reappearance, producing his best show for over a year and drawing 11l clear of the third; 4lb higher today but while being under pressure for most of that race pointed to longer distances, he will still be up against it if he's on the back foot early on today.

2-4 here (fences/hurdles); won the 3m6f Highland National at Perth in April 2021 (one of his two peak RPRs); absent 388 days before placed on all three starts this term, rallying in the 4m Borders National at Kelso latest; stamina in no doubt but he needs a return to his very best form.

Form & Verdict
All four of his chase wins have been at Chepstow, the latest a career-best performance in first-time cheekpieces (kept since) over 2m7f on good ground in October; however, bled from the nose when pulled up here 24 days ago; stays 3m2f and it probably wasn't the trip which beat him when he pulled up over 3m6f in February, but he has a bit to prove.

Gained all four chase wins here (good-soft), the latest over today's trip two years ago; very inconsistent in the meantime and not seen since heavy defeat at Newton Abbot in May but both his course record and his record when fresh make him of strong interest today.

All his chase wins have come at Chepstow but he has form elsewhere and this is a softer race than at Cheltenham last month; however, he did bleed that day and there's no denying he has a point to prove.

Gained all four chase wins at Chepstow but his third on the Old course here (3m1f, good to soft) in October was right up there with his best form; ran very poorly (albeit on heavy ground) last time and has a point to prove.

Form & Verdict
Kept jumping to her left in a hot handicap at Punchestown (upped to 3m7f) in April and that finally cost her when an error ended her race three out, disputing the lead and travelling well at the time; fell early on reappearance and weakened from two out when a respectable fifth over 3m5f at Fairyhouse one week later; needs to see it out vastly better today but this second-season chaser may have needed that outing and remains one to note.

Form & Verdict
Four-timer over fences this February-June, with the first three legs at Chepstow; it was 3m2f on heavy on first occasion, while the others were over about 3m on much better ground; has run creditably only once in last three outings but is just a 7yo and has looked very promising on occasions, so a resumption of his progress is not impossible; 1lb out of the handicap.

Won comfortably at regular haunt Chepstow (3m6f, good) in March and was probably unlucky not to follow up there (3m2f, good; in front when sprawling on landing at final fence) last month; went up another 5lb after the latter run, though, and may not be quite so effective on this sharper track.

2m7f wins over hurdles and fences at Worcester this summer and twice runner-up elsewhere in September; heavy defeats on his last three outings, though, and he's 15lb out of the handicap.

Won this race in 2024 (soft ground) but never really got going last season and was very disappointing favourite in a point last month, after a layoff; now a teenager and needs to prove he still has what it takes.
