Showed promise in a barrier trial and then beaten under 4l at Limerick in a fast-ground 7f maiden won by Snellen who followed up in the Chesham at Royal Ascot; faces very different conditions here but that was a promising run.

An 81-rated Flat performer won fillies' maiden at Gowran last April; still early days over hurdles; hinted at ability in her first two maiden hurdle attempts before a poor Gowran run.

Not beaten far at Dundalk during the winter (7f) and ran another promising race at Naas two weeks ago (1m, heavy) behind Wendla who has a future; certainly brings each-way credentials.

Australia filly and the sixth foal out of a mare who has produced five winners; only 7-1 for her 7f debut here last October and that maiden was probably won by a smart filly who is entered in the Irish 1,000 Guineas and Oaks; second has also won since; this 3yo also has the Irish Oaks entry.

Verdict

An Irish Oaks entry heightens interest in EVENING BLOSSOM who ran a thoroughly likeable first race here in October behind Paddy Twomey’s very promising filly Porters Place. It will be interesting to see what the market makes of Opaque, while with an edge in experience and possible fitness, both Nativity Square and Chick Flick could have some say.[Alistair Jones]
