Last year’s runner-up Red Derek got back on the scoresheet with a brave win at Doncaster 11 days ago and he’s respected on this step back up in trip. Captain Haddock returned to form with a rallying second at Newbury and has claims if he can back that up, while Ralph Beckett’s handicap newcomer Allemande looks interesting on her switch to this stiffer stamina test.
