Form & Verdict
Ran creditably sole start here; good second at Cartmel (3m1f, soft) in August on chase debut; made mistakes when pulled up at Stratford next time but back on song when close second at Sedgefield (3m3f, soft) one month ago; should go well.

Two wins over hurdles but 0-4 chasing; clear of remainder when second at Sedgefield (3m3f, soft) in November but pulled up either side of that and it's difficult to know how he'll perform here.

Form & Verdict
Back in some form for second on last two outings, the latest on reappearance over C&D (good); used to go well on soft ground and, despite going back up another 3lb, he's thrown in on his form two winters back.

11yo who has won just one of his 28 races and was tailed off at Ludlow latest; however, the blinkers adopted then are replaced with his usual cheekpieces, in which he was running well previously; form of January's Plumpton fourth (3m4f, soft) has worked out very well; he's one to consider.

Form & Verdict
Chasing on last four starts last term, with third off 4lb higher at Chepstow (2m7f, soft) in March easily the best of those results; tried cheekpieces on latest; had wind surgery (second time) in August and has left David Pipe (same owner); too hit and miss for comfort; also declared at Kelso.

Had wind surgery last August and is 4-4 for his new yard since; first three of those were over about 3m-3m2f on good to soft but he coped admirably with a move up to 4m1f on heavy in the Eider at Newcastle last time, confidently ridden to challenge three out and to overcome an error two out by getting up close home; up another 8lb but remains capable of better and may well extend his winning sequence.

Had wind surgery last August and is 3-3 for his new yard since; edged it in a fine duel over 3m2f at Carlisle on first occasion, followed by two wins at about 3m and he drew 11l clear from four out when a heavily backed favourite at Musselburgh on latest; all those were on good to soft but he did well on soft to heavy in Ireland early in career; up another 11lb and markedly in trip too, but he's a rising force and may well have more in the tank.

Form & Verdict
Just nine races; promising here on chase debut, despite mistakes, and won nicely at Leicester (2m6f, good to soft) last month; fair third at Fakenham latest and might be suited by going back right-handed here; also moves up in trip, which appeals given the way she drew clear at Leicester; probably acts on soft, below form sole run on heavy; player if the ground is okay.

Form & Verdict
Bumper winner, 0-6 as hurdler; 4-1, won chase debut in eight-runner novice handicap at Warwick (3m, soft) last month but his jumping wasn't that fluent and he was handed the win when a wide-margin leader fell at the last; has the same mark and needs to step up markedly upon that performance.

Too good for dual subsequent course winner One True King when scoring over C&D (soft) in February, his third chase success this season; needs to bounce back from a poor run last month and would appeal more on slower ground, but still enters calculations.

Benefited from Hurlerontheditch's last-fence fall when scoring on seasonal/chase debut at Warwick (3m, soft) and has added two further chase wins since (2m5f, good/3m, soft); would appeal slightly more on slower ground but might still be on the upgrade and features prominently in calculations.

Verdict

Jacks Touch going up in trip is an appealing proposition but preference is nevertheless for SPECIAL ACCEPTANCE who has been staging something of a revival and finished his race off with verve over C&D last time. Motion In Limine is third on the list, given that Rockinastorm was flattered to win on his chase debut.[Richard Austen]
