Form & Verdict
Flat-bred gelding was 100-1 for decent Leopardstown maiden hurdle over Christmas and showed up well for a long way, only beaten 11l in the end; yard has been notably quiet for some time.

Won off 7lb lower at Punchestown in May (2m, yielding); came up short off revised mark in the Tribes at Galway (2m1f, gd-yld); won his maiden over this trip so no stamina concerns but needs more off this mark.

Won for the second time over hurdles when scoring at Punchestown in May (form franked) over this trip; raised 7lb for that and is up in grade but goes well fresh so has to be respected.

Form & Verdict
Dam a sister to Yorkhill; stuck to his task when not beaten far by two stablemates in Thurles bumper and, although winner a little disappointing at Fairyhouse on Monday, he was only two lengths behind the subsequent Champion Bumper fifth; big player with progress likely.

The winner of two bumpers and a maiden hurdle; this is a big ask for a maiden over fences (0-4) but his seconds read well (pushed Spread Boss Ted close in one of those) and he looked in need of further than 2m4f when behind that rival and Funiculi Funicula on his handicap debut at Punchestown; could deliver the career best this race demands.

One of eight for trainer; dual bumper and maiden hurdle winner in 2024; runner-up on chase debut at this venue (2m7f, heavy) before falling four out back here next time; failed to justify 5-6 favouritism at Naas (2m4f, soft to heavy) last time when a 0.5l second behind Spread Boss Ted; now enters handicap chase company.

One of three for trainer; rated 134 over hurdles; completed a hat-trick (two bumpers/maiden hurdle) in 2024; finished second/third in Graded races over 3m/2m4f; good effort on chasing debut at Punchestown (2m7f, heavy) to take the runner-up spot despite market weakness; fell at four out back at that venue last time; Townend sticks with him and this looks easier than his previous starts.

Form & Verdict
Runner-up in a point and first two bumpers, touched off by a head at Fairyhouse in early December; weakened tamely over 2m4f at Leopardstown later that month and back from a break here; yard had two winners but an awful lot of disappointing runners at Fairyhouse over the weekend.

Decent novice, winning a Fairyhouse maiden hurdle and a Grade 3 novice at Navan; probably stepped up on that when a well beaten second to stablemate Romeo Coolio here at Christmas; others preferred.

Impressive point winner in the autumn; third of five when odds-on for Limerick bumper in Janaury and then beaten 6l at Naas by a Mullins-trained winner who was tailed off at Cheltenham; now tried in a combination of headgear.

Beaten less than a length in a Limerick bumper in December but couldn't build on that when a distant fourth at Naas subsequently.

Verdict

This can go the way of BALLYGUNNER CASTLE whose form received a boost at the Cheltenham Festival and he could be hard to beat for a yard that are enjoying a particularly good season in bumpers. Olympy De Cerisy could be the main danger if improving for headgear. [Mark Nunan]
