Unlikely it was a vintage Brocklesby in which she finished third on her debut (Theatrically fifth) but she kept on well in the closing stages and is open to improvement; leading contender.

Close third of 15 in Brocklesby on debut in March but both 5f runs in April were disappointing; hiked up in trip for this nursery/AW debut and not an easy filly to weigh up on first start for 163 days.

February foal; 30,000gns yearling; half-sister to 5f-6f winner Bay Breeze (RPR 92); dam a maiden half-sister to Group-placed 2yo winner Midnight Martini; bred to have a future and she's one to note for market confidence.

Made all in maiden handicap at Redcar (5f, good to firm) last June; disappointing after that in 2025 but more encouraging signs when fifth of nine to Herakles (Dc Cogent third) on Nottingham reappearance 19 days ago, fading late as if the outing was just needed; enters calculations having dipped 2lb below her winning mark.

Made all when winning a maiden handicap at Beverley (5f, good to firm) last June but she's been disappointing since and ended last season with a heavy defeat at this track; drops back in trip/grade on her return but record is now 1-12 and others are more convincing.

Came closest to winning when beaten a length into second of seven at Lingfield (6f, soft) in July, but not so effective on fast ground there a fortnight later; ran with credit when fourth of eight at Kempton (5f, Polytrack) in April and one for the shortlist in new headgear combination.

Not wildly progressive since her Brocklesby fifth, but a 1l second on this month's C&D nursery debut (soft) was career-best form, and all the more meritworthy considering she'd turned out 24 hours earlier; offered little on sole previous start on a sound surface, albeit over 7f.

Verdict

Even with the ground drying out this will be a test for these juveniles and the benefit of experience is a major plus for INDICATION EMBER. Grant Tuer’s filly ran a promising race in the Brocklesby and can get off the mark at the second attempt. Marajito is preferred to Englemere and Larchill Lass amongst the newcomers.[Paul Smith]
