Form & Verdict
Below form on soft ground once and has excelled on good/faster; very smart juvenile last term; second to Notable Speech in the 2,000 Guineas on reappearance having perhaps got to the front sooner than ideal given the strong pace, then played his cards late in the Irish equivalent where he got up in the final strides; likely has even more to offer; major contender.

Won the Irish Guineas (1m, good) and St James's Palace (1m here, good to firm) last season; 0-5 this term but has run some mighty races, going extremely close in the Queen Anne over C&D (good to firm) and doing likewise in the Moulin (1m, good to soft) last time; could be thereabouts once more.

Went very close in the Group 1 Queen Anne at Royal Ascot (1m, good to firm) then narrowly failed to overhaul Qirat in the Group 1 Sussex at Goodwood (1m, good), with the shock winner having been gifted a clear lead; today's drop back to 7f isn't an obvious positive but this three-time Group 1 winner is a class act who will be tough to beat if the distance isn't an issue.

Normally travels and quickens and is suited by good ground or firmer; sparkled in a truncated 2024 campaign that featured wins, looking better than the bare form, in the Irish 2,000 Guineas and St James's Palace Stakes (subsequently met with a setback); couple of encouraging efforts since returning to action, beaten only a whisker by Docklands when favourite for slowly run Queen Anne back at Royal Ascot latest; one of the main players.

Form & Verdict
Superbly bred colt whose unbeaten 2yo campaign (3-3) culminated in a 5l success in the National Stakes at the Curragh (good to yielding); best to forgive his reappearance defeat (behind Metropolitan) in the French 2,000 Guineas, as he met some trouble and couldn't get into a challenging position; still open to further progress and remains of major interest.

3-3 in last year's 2yo campaign, including Group 1 National Stakes; clear, close second in Group 1 St James's Palace Stakes on the round course here (1m, good to firm) in June; hasn't kicked on since and was 3l behind runner-up Charyn when third in the Group 1 Prix du Moulin at Longchamp (1m, soft) last month, but he's not ruled out in view of his previous promise.

Supplemented for this contest at a cost of £46,000; yet to race on good/firmer; French colt who didn't have much to spare in a blanket finish for the Poulains at Longchamp most recently, taking record to 3-4; has something to find with the other Guineas winners on ratings but brings the promise of better still, having improved with each start.

0-4 over 1m+ last year; dropped in trip and made all in 7f Listed race at Haydock in May but didn't give his running in Group 3 over same C&D three weeks later; now runs in a sprint for the first time since his (winning) debut and also tackles the AW for the first time, so he has a bit to prove, although first-time blinkers could have a positive effect.

Last season concluded with fine third in the Champion Stakes over C&D (good; about 2l behind runner-up Ombudsman) and this 5yo looked better than ever when winning the Group 1 Tattersalls Gold Cup at the Curragh (10.5f, good) on his reappearance, with subsequent Coronation Cup winner Bay City Roller 2l back in second and a disappointing Minnie Hauk in fifth; today's company is even hotter but he might not be far away if the fast ground isn't an issue.

Closest to Minnie Hauk on ratings, although that rival has the benefit of race-fitness and a fillies allowance; made all to beat subsequent three-time Group 1 winner Ombudsman at Sandown (1m2f, good) last season but had the benefit of a run; good placed efforts in Group 2s at York (10.5f, good) and Longchamp (1m4f, good to soft); signed off last term with a cracking run to take third in a Group 1 at Ascot on Champions Day (1m2f, good); there is likely more to come to this term from the British raider.

Fast-improving colt who has a smart turn of foot and remains unbeaten (4-4); unraced at two; justified favouritism in 1m AW contests at Kempton between January and April, then belied a market drift in the 2,000 Guineas at Newmarket (good) where he came off a strong pace to beat Rosallion; form is working out well; top rated, with the potential to go even higher.

High-class miler who landed the 2,000 Guineas and Sussex Stakes last year; on several occasions he has shown a smart turn of foot, suggesting he is blessed with speed, and travelled like a colt who may well prove as effective over shorter; only fourth in two top races this term but reportedly worked well in a gallop last weekend, prompting connections to supplement him for this contest at a cost of £36,000; leading player on best form and the drop in distance is well worth exploring.
