Form & Verdict
Cost £300,000 as a breezer but it was a week three-runner novice she won last season (narrowly; 6f) and it wasn't a great novice in which she finished a fairly close sixth on her reappearance two months ago (7f, good; penalised); this mark is no gift on what she's achieved but clearly open to improvement.

£300,000 breeze-up purchase; only had two rivals to beat when winning a Pontefract fillies' novice (6f, good) 357 days ago but she overcame inexperience to win a shade cosily; penalty demands more but she should have progress in her this year.

Progressed again to edge out a reliable yardstick at Doncaster (7f; 4lb lower) but then only fourth at York; that was a bit disappointing given he was made favourite but this is only his seventh race.

Bar a blip on AW in the spring (wore a first-time tongue tie which was quickly discarded) his profile is steadily progressive, edging out Alpha Capture (due to run here on Friday) in 7f Doncaster handicap (good to firm) 16 days ago; 4lb higher now back in a 3yo only race but he may have more to give.

Won a Catterick novice (7f, good) on seasonal/stable debut in May and following handicap runs were respectable; the last two less so and needs to bounce back.

Form & Verdict
Sole win in six races for Joseph O'Brien came in a Roscommon handicap over slightly further in May (good); final run for that yard wasn't too bad and was sold on for 28,000gns; could be the type who does well for Mark Walford.

Was dropped out on handicap debut over 7.5f at Roscommon and luckily they went hard and he came through to easily beat a subsequent winner; only 5-1 at Curragh next time, never landed a blow over 7f after getting out of his ground at halfway; will need a good pace to aim at, so a hostage to fortune in that respect.

0-6 in Ireland with one notable effort; joined this yard for 5,500gns and made a positive start when runner-up at Doncaster (7f, good to firm); now goes in cheekpieces and his best Irish run was in blinkers.

Capable of fair form but not proving the easiest to catch right; one of his better efforts when third of nine in 7f Catterick handicap 11 days ago; however, only third of four when favourite for 6f maiden at Ripon on Saturday.

Beaten eight times and the drop back to 6f isn't an obvious positive, but he's run some good races and was third in a handicap at Catterick (7f, good to firm) last Wednesday; prominent in calculations.

Betting Forcast

100/30 Enchant, 3/1 Return Of The Gods, 10/1 Zarvali, 10/1 Substance, 7/1 Raging Raj, 8/1 Shadow Run, 6/1 Derrygarran Lad, 6/1 Indefensible

Verdict

Enchant is lightly raced so could find the improvement she probably needs to defy this high a mark. However, SHADOW RUN ran a positive first race for his new yard at Doncaster and the new cheekpieces could offer something, as he wore headgear for his best run in Ireland. Return Of The Gods is second choice.[Alistair Jones]
