Form & Verdict
Her five races this season yielded three wins and two seconds, including when raising her game again with step up to 1m4f on good/good to soft for last three starts; keeps creeping up the weights but needs major respect.

In-form mare who is bidding for her fourth win this season, the third coming at Ripon last time when beating Spioradalta (now 4lb better off) by 1.5l; stays this trip well; on a career-high mark but the race should be run to suit her and she has a good chance.

5yo mare whose form has gone to a new level this season, with wins at Yarmouth (1m2f, good) and Goodwood (1m4f, good to soft) sandwiching a runner-up finish at Lingfield (1m2f, good to firm); she may be the type who only just does enough and therefore she could have more still left in the tank.

Form & Verdict
Began career last term winning four-runner novice races at Hamilton (1m3f) and Ripon (1m4f); advanced her RPR when down the field in 1m6f Listed event at Bath (good to soft) last October, but tailed off in Listed race here (1m2f, heavy; 80-1) in November; relatively unexposed making her handicap debut on this belated reappearance but others have more solid form claims.

Out of a modest but very well-connected French 1m4f winner; began career with wins in four-runner novice races at Hamilton (1m3f, good to firm) in August and Ripon (1m4f, good) 12 days ago; has more on her plate here but it's very hard to gauge the limit of her ability.

50,000gns yearling; won a muddling four-runner novice at Hamilton (1m3f, good to firm), flooring the long odds-on favourite who had been close up in a Listed race the time before; unwise to take that form at face value but probably the safest option here.

Form & Verdict
Unbeaten with tongue-tie enlisted for her three handicaps, red-hot favourite on last two occasions; those wins at Salisbury, Glorious Goodwood (good to firm) and York Ebor meeting (good to soft) were at about 1m2f but her dam stayed 1m4f and it wouldn't be a shock if she proved capable of defying latest 6lb rise.

Improved upon her first three runs when upped in trip to win on handicap debut at Salisbury (1m2f, good to firm) last month and she followed up in dominant fashion at Glorious Goodwood (1m2f, good to firm); this unexposed 3yo could take a 9lb rise in her stride if conditions aren't an issue.

Improved upon her first three runs (7f-8.6f) to win on handicap debut at Salisbury (1m2f, good to firm) three weeks ago when upped in trip in a first-time tongue-tie (retained); it was a small field but she came clear with an unexposed runner-up and she's just 2lb higher today; this 420,000gns yearling could have lots more to offer for her top yard.

Form & Verdict
Won her first three starts for new stable in space of two weeks in July (1m4f/1m5f, good to firm); career-best form wasn't quite repeated in her two outings since (creditable third under Charlie Tucker last time) and this race promises to be pretty tough.

Made up plenty of ground to lead close home at Galway festival (1m4f, yielding; same race she won the year before) on penultimate start but was herself pipped by a fast finisher; won starts either side, latest by a head off the same mark at Sligo (10.5f) four days later; this is a very different track but she has to be considered with her mark virtually unchanged.

Won narrowly at Roscommon in June and went very close to repeating last year's success in a 1m4f Galway handicap; due to go up 3lb for finishing a neck second; holds an obvious chance, providing this does not come too soon; last year's second in this event came after the same four-day interval.

Four-time winner landed this race last season off 72; was running off that mark when winning at Roscommon on latest (10.5f, good); 6lb rise makes things tougher but she's got a nice low draw, ground is fine and should be in the mix again.

Beaten a neck on reappearance and went one better in another novice in June when rallying over C&D (good to soft); short-headed under 5lb claimer in seven-runner race for handicap debut at Ascot (1m4f, good to firm) nine weeks ago and further improvement would confirm her as a strong candidate despite 4lb rise.

Minor form improvement on all starts, getting off the mark (fifth attempt) when 4-6 in a four-runner handicap at Hamilton (1m3f) on latest; carried her head a bit high that day but had to battle to lead on the line; up 3lb for this AW debut but she's a lightly raced 3yo who may still do better.

Has done well since moving into handicaps in this hood, with form figures of 12113; all were over 1m2f and she was put firmly in her place by Sliver Lake at Glorious Goodwood last time but the latest win was at this track, dam was 1m4f winner and this 3yo also looks well worth a crack at this trip.

Verdict

Silver Lake is the high-profile candidate, bidding for a four-timer after wins at the big summer festivals at Goodwood and York. She has the increasing look of a class act but trying 1m4f for the first time gives her a bit more to prove and this is a strong line-up. Ruby Wedding and Salamanca City have also been in consicuously good form but the chief threat to Silver Lake may emerge from C&D winner NOCHEBUENA who is the mostly lightly raced horse in the field and an improving one judged on the close call on her handicap debut.[Richard Austen]
