All wins at 6f and 7f but he stays 1m and has run well over C&D, albeit off a lower mark in an easier race than this; well held on this track last week and looks up against it; yard also has Leadman.

His four turf races were all on good ground; 3-3 in handicaps, winning twice over the extended 1m2f at Chester before taking a four-runner 1m4f race at Thirsk; did it gamely from the front on last two occasions, by narrow margins and raised 4lb since last time but there's probably more left in the tank.

Jolt of improvement this summer, winning a strong Leicester handicap in May (beat Prince Of India on the same terms) and following up at York in June (both wins over 6f on good to firm); the wheels came off in his hat-trick bid at Newmarket last month but he still has time to resume his progress.

Slipped badly last summer in his first handicap and boiled over next time, favourite for valuable 1m6f races in both of them; gelded soon afterwards and won with a strong late bid at Newcastle (1m4f, AW) last October; this is a belated reappearance but he surely has more to offer this season, perhaps a good deal.

With new yard this season; out of his depth in the 2m5f Queen Alexandra at Royal Ascot in June and held by Wild Waves on that result; however, second in a 2m novice hurdle next time and close second of four to Almuhit in a slowly run Flat race at Newbury (2m, good to firm) 11 days later when Wild Waves disappointed; could be on his way back.
