Acts on soft; usually runs in better races and took advantage of the drop back to Class 3 at Newbury (2m4f, good to soft) last month, scoring by 11l; back up 8lb but warrants respect kept to this grade.

Progressive front-runner who has won two handicaps this term (2m3f/2m1f, good to firm/soft) and came second in the Grade 2 Game Spirit at Newbury (2m, heavy) in February; a bad mistake at the first fence all but ended his race in the Champion Chase at Cheltenham last month; sent off 50-1 at the Festival and his form has to go to a new level if he's to pose a threat today.

Acts on any ground; has become a very consistent chaser; form figures this term read 12122, the second-place finishes in Grade 2 events, including handicaps; ran creditably behind a leading novice in the Game Spirit at Newbury most recently; even if he gives his running again, that won't be nearly enough to trouble the judge now that he is upped further in class; a lot to find.

Acts on heavy; completed a useful double at Newbury (2m4f) last March, the second leg off this mark (beat Sir Psycho); not in the same form since but this drop back in grade may prompt a resurgence.

All chase wins around 2m4f, including win at this meeting last year; Newbury specialist who landed fourth win at that track when bagging valuable handicap for second time on penultimate start; never won off a mark this high and drop back down to 2m also asks a question but he's impossible to rule out.

Record of 3-5 at Newbury features a success in this contest two years ago; proved no match for Twinjets in most recent course start and was a faller in last two handicap attempts (out of depth in Grade 1 since); however, holds a major chance off current mark provided he's in top form.

Verdict

Off a very attractive mark back down in class and back up in distance, TRIPLE TRADE looks particularly interesting. Saint Segal, who warrants respect kept to this level and represents last year’s winning yard, is second choice. Heltenham and Sir Psycho are well capable of being involved, while Bhaloo may still have further progress in him[Steve Boow]
