Progressive mare when last seen in 2022, finishing second to the smart Love Envoi in a Grade 2 for mares at Sandown (2m4f, heavy) before performing below market expectations in a deep handicap at the Grand National meeting; every inch a chaser on looks and would be tempting should the market vibes bode well.

Form & Verdict
Won a 2m4f hurdle last January off this mark (2m4f, soft); didn't look a natural chaser when trying it once in Ireland and he weakened badly to be a remote fifth on his return to fences at Ffos Las (2m3f, soft) in November; could yet turn things around off what's a good mark.

Runs off a mark fully 10lb lower than when winning over hurdles at Ffos Las (2m4f, soft) in January 2023; however, he's been a long way below that level this season over fences and the first-time blinkers (replacing cheekpieces) need to prompt major improvement.

Hurdle winner of 5lb higher in early 2023; entitled to have needed the run when well-held fifth on return to chasing in November but dropped away very tamely in straight at Chepstow in January and comes here with some questions to answer.

3lb beneath the mark he defied over hurdles last summer and it is early days over fences; pulled hard on his first attempt at Kempton but settled better when only 10l away at Plumpton (2m3f, good to soft) and that's something he can build on; possible.

Landed a five-timer over hurdles (2m3f-2m4f) for Milton Harris last March-June, ridden by Bradley Harris and the final leg off 5lb higher than today; respectable fourth at Plumpton in December on his second attempt over fences for this stable but off since pulling up over hurdles the following month; needs to be ready to roll back from a break and reverting to fences.

Defied a 2lb lower mark last summer (2m4f, good; fine on softer) and returns to this discipline after two defeats over fences, the latest a respectable effort (beaten 10l); probably in fair form and entitled to run well.

Form & Verdict
Dual hurdle winner who stayed on best to make a successful chase debut over C&D (heavy) in December and he was tackling stronger company and a longer trip when well below form at Newbury recently (2m6f, soft); 4lb higher than for that course win and Finn Lambert claimed 5lb that day, so he probably needs to find extra to go in again.

Rather in and out, and followed a Ludlow win (3m, good to soft) in December with a listless fourth over the same C&D three weeks ago; needs first-time headgear to inject some sparkle.

Went up 5lb for winning a 3m handicap that fell apart at Ludlow (good to soft) in February and that was under a 3lb claimer; probably has no margin for error off this mark and that spells danger in this warm a race; that said, his Chepstow run after a break was encouraging.

Form & Verdict
Bought for £24,000 out of the Gordon Elliott yard for which he won a maiden hurdle (soft); having his third run over fences when pulled up on stable debut at Ffos Las (2m3f, heavy) after 11 months out; the cheekpieces tried there are replaced by blinkers and a returning tongue-tie.

Off for nearly a year before pulling up on chase debut (jumped poorly) and when reverting to hurdles in March but subsequent efforts back on good ground yielded two wins at around this trip and he didn't run badly off this mark when third in May; needs to cut out the mistakes reverting to fences but interesting back from a break.

Verdict

Course winner Ballycamus probably needs his best effort yet if he’s to go in again. Kings Keeper and Mullinaree have a bit to prove as chasers but are on perfectly good marks to make their presence felt. However, the two newcomers to fences are interesting, especially SPEECH BUBBLE, who had some class about her over hurdles and is every inch a chaser on looks. Big Blue Moon also has to overcome an absence but he was coming along very nicely last spring and is probably well handicapped.[Alistair Jones]
