Promising for Charlie Appleby at two/three, including on soft; made his stable debut after 456 days off, creating a big impression, in landing a 1m handicap at Newcastle in February; hit with a 6lb rise but highly likely there's more to come.

Not the most reliable and winless since March 2024 for Gemma Tutty; hinted at a revival though on just second run for his new yard with fourth of eight in 1m1f handicap at Goodwood last month; not without interest off a tumbling mark with Oisin Murphy up for the first time.

Verdict

Noble Order created an extremely favourable impression when winning at Newcastle in February and he’s probably still well handicapped. He’s high on the list, along with last year’s runner-up Shaladar and the three that ran so well in the Spring Mile, namely Look Back Smiling, Thunder Roar and Clear Angel (second choice). That said, PISANELLO returns to action on a winning mark, goes well fresh and looks to have plenty in his favour.[Paul Smith]
