Well held at Hereford but may benefit from this return to Ludlow, having gone close over C&D (soft) on debut; not dismissed. |

Does not have an exciting pedigree but outran 33-1 odds when coming from the rear to go close on debut at Ludlow (soft) in December; probably sets a fair form standard; strong contender. |

Soundly beaten here in the Martin Pipe 12 months ago but second of 17 to today's Grade 1 Stayers' hopeful Ma Shantou back here (3m, good) in October; improved to win valuable race in another big field at Haydock (3m, good to soft) in November and should be raring to go today, with major chance. |

Dual winner at Fontwell (2m1f/2m3f) as a novice hurdler last season; unable to land any sort of blow when making handicap debut at the Festival here (2m4f) in March and raced rather lazily when seventh (not beaten that far) at Sandown in April but this step up to 3m may unlock improvement; not ruled out. |

8-1, kept on for fair fourth of 14 on debut at Lingfield (2m, AW) in December; plenty of improvement needed today but he could be sharper for that outing and his dam was useful; trainer among the winners. |

Second foal; dam bumper/2m hurdle winner, sister to bumper and 2m/2m3f hurdle winner War Creation, half-sister to bumper/2m hurdle winner Blazer's Mill; makes his debut in an ordinary race and he needs checking in market. |

Didn't last long with Paul Nicholls nor Keiran Burke, though hinted at a future in both yards; ran well in a maiden hurdle on stable debut and again when beaten 6l on handicap debut at Ascot (2m7f, good to soft); same mark here for this return to fences (unseated midrace in previous chase start nearly a year ago). |

Irish point winner in 2023; has yet to fulfil initial bumper promise and was pulled up a year ago on handicap debut (3m, soft; first-time cheekpieces) on final start for Nicky Henderson; interesting to see what the new stable can do with him; market can guide. |

Irish maiden point winner in May 2023; with a top yard but came up short under Ben Sutton in his two bumpers and two hurdle races (both over an extended 2m4f) so he looks one of their lesser lights; unraced on soft. |

Pulled up when 40-1 for handicap debut in February but, having changed hands for £4,000 during the summer (was with Karen Jewell), it will be interesting to see if the betting market predicts improvement on this stable debut; hood removed after one use. |

Kept on for third in modest Fontwell maiden (2m1f, heavy) on hurdling debut last March but returned from break with two dispiriting runs in December (2m/2m3f) and has questions to answer on handicap debut. |

Verdict
After being held up off steady fractions, ELECTRIC MASON wouldn’t have been seen to best effect at Ascot and yet still finished third behind two nice prospects. Western Harmony is of obvious interest and it’s worth referring to the opening race on the card in which the horse he beat in his point is due to make his rules debut. Mount Gay Run may have been unsuited by the heavy ground at Chepstow.[Alistair Jones]
