Form & Verdict
Made a low-key start at Newmarket (1m) in October but runner-up in both subsequent runs and narrowly denied in a C&D novice last month; open to more progress on his nursery debut and he's respected with cheekpieces added.

Successful in five-runner handicap at Musselburgh (12.5f, good) last Sunday, opening his account at the 15th attempt; clear possibilities in his bid for a quickfire Scottish double.

Looked as though he might be on the way back when third of eight on return from 320 days off at Thirsk (1m4f, good to soft) in July, but has gone quiet again twice since; now 0-13 and hard to warm to despite dropping into a Class 6 for the first time.

Form & Verdict
Showed clear promise on turf (7f) and Polytrack (1m) in his first two starts before justifying favouritism in a Wolverhampton novice (9.4f) 12 days ago; that was another step forward last time and he's a big player again off what looks a fair mark on his nursery debut.

C&D winner (good; 4lb higher today) in June; not so hot back here on good to firm next time, albeit in a better race, and although he wasn't beaten far at Chelmsford (AW) on latest start, that was in only seventh of 11; faces fewer rivals this time but not top of the list.

Successful at Wolverhampton (9.5f, Tapeta) and Lingfield (1m2f, Polytrack) last winter and added another win at Newmarket (1m2f, good) in June; not so good back there last time, albeit in a better race, and others are higher up the list.

Ten races and usually seriously involved, this season's exception on soft ground; best efforts came in 1m2f handicaps on good ground under Neil Callan at Newmarket on last two starts, the latter a C&D win since which the second and fourth have both won; not harshly treated with 4lb rise.

Form & Verdict
Won at Pontefract (6f, good to firm; 10-1) on debut in August but he's not kicked on from that and was a fading fourth of five on his step up to 9.4f at Wolverhampton last time; dropped another 2lb but he's now 1-6 and others are preferred.

Usually slowly away; lost his form last autumn but he's thrown in judged on plenty of earlier 2025 form, never mind peak efforts; first run since he left Gemma Tutty for 9,000gns in December and the market may guide.

Stuck on a losing run but competitive in 7f/1m handicaps this year (and a seller) and heavy ground perhaps not ideal the last time; could go well.

Form & Verdict
Third in Ffos Las novice (7.3f, good) on his third start but struggled in nurseries in final two runs for Clive Cox; has quite a lot to prove upped to this trip on his AW/stable debut, having been sold for 6,5000gns in October and been gelded.

Form & Verdict
Half-brother to the stable's Group 2/3 winner Fanny Logan, but he's been well held in four runs so far including when last of seven in a 1m Kempton nursery (14-1) last month; blinkers are now added and he needs a transformation back up in trip.

Signed off for John and Thady Gosden with low-grade AW win in March; about 11l behind Max Of Stars when last of four finishers on recent stable/hurdle debut at Hexham (2m, good) but positives can still be drawn from that performance; sports refitted tongue-tie and first-time visor.

Didn't live up to his very good Flat pedigree when with Godolphin but managed to win AW handicap in March (1m3f; RPR 69); changed hands for £16,000 soon afterwards and has travelled from South Wales to make hurdling debut for stable with 6-20 strike-rate here.

Five-race maiden who is seemingly one of the yard's lesser lights, only fourth in low-grade handicap at Wolverhampton (9.5f; tongue-tie/blinkers fitted) when last seen; however, pedigree suggests this longer trip may squeeze improvement out of him; not dismissed.

Verdict

The two who stand out from the rest are the nursery newcomers Kingsley Pride and MIGHTY RIVER. The former went very close in a C&D novice last month and he’s strongly respected, but the vote goes to Mighty River, who made it third time lucky with his win at Wolverhampton 12 days ago and is open to more progress.[David Moon]
