Usually races prominently (didn't when trying 1m4f last time); a mostly solid 2025 included 1m2f Listed wins in May and November; has started 2026 in downbeat fashion but today's ground could prompt something better, as his top three ratings have been registered on softer than good; below-form favourite in this race two years ago but was denied a clear run; needs to be back in peak form to have any chance.

Verdict

Noble Horizon's second start for Oli Rix saw him win from the front with huge authority, which needs plenty of respect despite today's 10lb rise and a warmer race which should see competition for the lead. Night Breeze and Rathgar are 6yos in the form of their lives, and Twisted Physics should go well, while Yabher looked good here before his flop at York, but the one who looks most clearly open to further progress is Irish challenger DIEGO EL QUESO. He has a wide draw but that didn't stop the 2021, 2022, 2023 or 2024 winners of this race and two of them came from out the back, tactics similar to those which have been employed to good effect on him this season.[Richard Austen]
