Lightly raced 4yo who took the leap in grade in his stride for last-gasp win in the Group 1 Jubilee at Royal Ascot (6f, good to firm) in June; disappointing in the July Cup at Newmarket since but perhaps a second encounter in a row with fast ground was an issue; has won on soft/good to soft; leading claims if bouncing back from last time and rediscovering his best form.

Progressive colt who got up on the line in a very tight finish to the 6f Group 1 at Royal Ascot (good to firm) most recently, taking record in completed starts to 4-6 and confirming that a heavy fall last September has not left a long-lasting mark; an emerging force in the sprinting division and he's from the family of a July Cup winner (Dream Ahead); major contender.

Got going too late in the Silver Cup 12 months ago but went on to run out an impressive winner at York (6f, good) three weeks later; looked a prime candidate for a major handicap on that occasion and his return to action at York's Dante meeting (6f, good), when finishing with a flourish having raced away from the main action, did little to dispel that notion; two fast-ground runs since have both been perfectly serviceable and today's return to slower ground could be the catalyst for him to fulfil his potential.

Broadly progressive 4yo whose form in notable handicaps suggests he could develop into a Group horse; went close on reappearance in his bid for a York double, then finished a respectable sixth when favourite for the Wokingham at Royal Ascot; remains of major interest.

Third in 6f Group races at the Curragh on his last two starts (good/good to firm), most recently behind Big Mojo; he likes slow ground but that's not enough of a positive to suggest he'll be a serious player today, as he has quite a bit to find with the principals.

Has been a high flyer over this C&D in his time and he wasn't far away in the Group 1 July Cup on his final start in 2025; this year hasn't been going so well but he's had wind surgery since last seen in July and some sort of revival is on the cards; yard runs three.

Won the 2024 Group 1 Champions Sprint at Ascot (6f, soft) but is 0-8 since; held in Group 1s on his last two starts, including in the Sprint Cup at Haydock last time (runner-up the previous two years), but he was runner-up in Group 2 at York in June and has a good chance at the weights on his return to the AW.

Won the Group 1 Champions Sprint at Ascot (6f, soft) in 2024 and has finished second in the last two runnings of this race (good); also runner-up in Group 2 Minster Stakes at York (6f, good) on this season's reappearance; merely mid-division at Royal Ascot in June last time (6f, good to firm) but getting back on slower ground should help; he's firmly in calculations.

His career-best RPRs have coincided with his last two encounters with slow ground, specifically a dominant win in the Group 2 Park Stakes at Doncaster (7f, soft) last September and a very creditable third in the Group 1 City Of York Stakes (7f, good to soft) last month; he travelled well in the lead at York and the return to 6f on slow ground could be right up his street.

Unraced at York but he does go on any ground, and his career-best form came on soft when impressing in a 7f Group 2 at Doncaster last September; creditable effort conceding weight all round when runner-up to Paborus in a Group 3 over 6f (AW) on his return to Britain in June and it's best to put a line through his run behind Lake Forest at Glorious Goodwood (7f) as he raced far too freely off a slacking pace; with a truer gallop on the cards and no ground issues, he could be a lively one.

The most recent of his six wins came in a Group 2 at the Curragh (6f, good) in May 2024; his first three runs this summer were good, including when a neck third of 27 in the Stewards' Cup (6f, good to firm), but he beat only one home in a heavy-ground Group 3 in France last month; runner-up on his only race on the AW and he could bounce back, albeit with this race not guaranteed to be run to suit.

He hasn't had a great deal of racing since July 2024 but, two wind surgeries and a gelding operation later, he has shown he retains a good chunk of his former ability (Group 2 winner at best) this year, in a tongue-tie on last two starts; finished just behind Soldier's Tree when fifth in the Wokingham (6f, good to firm) but was in front of that rival in a Group 3 at Newbury two weeks ago; 3lb well in and has the ability to feature but his tendency to forfeit ground at the start isn't ideal in a race of this depth.

5yo who has had a few interruptions in his career and returned from latest absence with a win in the Group 3 Chipchase Stakes at Newcastle (6f, AW) in June; has won on soft ground; ran well for a long way when eighth in the Group 1 City Of York (7f, good to soft) a fortnight ago and could benefit from the return to sprinting, but others have more substance to their claims.

Strike-rate of 5-8 and long absences are a feature in his profile; back from another to produce career-best form in beating Marvelman at Newcastle in June (6f AW) but he'd be no certainty to confirm those placings on 5lb worse terms, while there are plenty of others to worry about; on the plus side, he remains a relative unknown quantity and trip/ground will be fine.

Won C&D handicap in 2025; has some scope at this level, given his good sixth of 11 in Group 1 July Cup at Newmarket (6f, good to firm; slightly hampered when just behind Division); made all in a Listed race over that C&D last time; dangerous with cheekpieces replacing blinkers.

Yet to win this season but took his form to a new level when fitted with blinkers for last two runs, looking unlucky not to finish closer than sixth in C&D Group 1 July Cup before running on well for second in 7f Newbury Group 2 (also good to firm) last Saturday; eased in grade today; the one to beat.

Fine fourth against older horses in the Group 1 July Cup at Newmarket (6f, good to firm) and won the Group 2 Hungerford Stakes at Newbury (7f, good to firm) three weeks ago, which was a third Group-race win; 3yos have enjoyed plenty of success in this race and this progressive colt could be in the mix provided he handles conditions (unraced on ground slower than good).

Has raced only at sprint distances; ran well in the face of a stiff task when fourth of 11 in the Group 1 July Cup at Newmarket (6f, good to firm; 28-1) last month; that makes him one of the leading contenders on form but he does need to prove his stamina for today's longer trip.

A better sprinter than the bare form suggests as he hasn't had much luck this year, having to make a detour when a fast-finishing third of 22 in the Group 1 Commonwealth Cup here (6f, good to firm) in June and seemingly not as well suited by the track at Newmarket when fifth in Group 1 July Cup next time, when also having to negotiate a difficult draw; he only just failed to win a Group 1 at Deauville (6.5f) since and looks sure to go well back here.

Lightly raced 3yo whose best juvenile run came on good to soft ground in a Doncaster sales race (extended 6f); back in action with a strong-finishing but luckless third of eight in a Sandown Listed race (5f, good) but he made no serious impact in a York handicap since; today's test should suit better and he's far from exposed.

2yo campaign concluded with good third in Doncaster sales race (6.5f, good to soft); just one start this year, when keeping on strongly for close Listed third at Sandown (5f, good) in June; this sharp 5f may not play to his strengths but he has a Group 1 entry and is one to be interested in.
