Verdict
Most of these have something to prove but ALZAHIR (nap) was a front-running second at Newcastle on his penultimate run and he didn’t get any luck under patient tactics in a Class 2 over C&D last time. He remains well treated on old form and is a big player on this drop back in grade. The main threat could come from He’s A Gentleman, who is back on his last winning mark and looks interesting on this drop back to 7f. Third choice is five-time AW winner Chalk Mountain, who has claims if he can bounce back near his best.[David Moon]
