Form & Verdict
Golden Horn half-sister to eight winners; 11-2 for novice here (1m2f) on her debut in December 2020 and she forged clear from off the pace; been on the sidelines since and has left the Gosden yard but she needs watching in the market upped to this trip on her comeback.

Lightly raced 5yo who won three of her first four starts on the AW, the latest at Southwell (1m4f, Tapeta) in February; has been mostly quiet since, though, and this looks a tough task; stable also runs Malka.

Very lightly raced 5yo who is unproven on turf and has been below par the last twice; however, she's on a competitive mark judged on her AW form earlier this year and is a player if back on song following a break.

Unexposed mare with a good record on AW, including a C&D win; wouldn't judge her too harshly on latest heavy defeat at Goodwood (Listed) and she still has time to do better in this sphere.

450,000gns yearling; showed promise on his second start when third behind an impressive odds-on rival over C&D last month; finished over 3l behind runner-up Treble Joy in that race but that was a major step forward from his initial form and he's open to more progress for top yard; dangerous.

Won three in a row on the Flat in the spring (1m6f-2m) and was placed over hurdles on next two outings (2m/2m2f); has won over 2m7f before and could plausibly still have untapped potential as a stayer over jumps.

Inconsistent sort but she was placed over C&D in the first of her two starts last year, which offers hope for a big effort on reappearance; three years since sole win, however.

Verdict

Top of the list is Gary Moore’s TREBLE JOY (nap), who has finished runner-up on Polytrack in the last three of his four starts and sets a good standard on his clear second behind a smart rival in a C&D novice ten days ago. Star Legend finished 3l behind the selection in that race but that was a major step forward from his initial form and he looks the main danger with more improvement on the cards. Third choice is Andrew Balding’s returning filly Ring Fenced.[David Moon]
